target etc give awful awful rates

my bank CIBC doesn't have any agreements so debit cannot be used - my friend uses TD and he can use debit

but they charge extra

so if you can get a good exchange rate on cash use cash or just take out money at a bank machine - wamu usually doesn't charge extra - but key bank and US bank charge like $2.50 extra

or use a credit card but they don't give the best rates either - it varies from visa to visa though - like who you have it through
