I have only tried the w Broadway location, but Im sure the one in Richmond is the same.
Here is another pathetic attempt by the chinese to imitate Japanese food and culture. Not one person in the staff is native japanese. There is one Japanese/Canadian waitress with horrible service, and very unprofessional.
First off lets take a look at my first impression of this restaurant. I had arrived with a Japanese woman thinking that we were about to eat authentic Japanese cuisine. When all the veggies and meat arrived I had then realized that this was definetly NOT authentic. Japanese sukiyaki does NOT contain bamboo shoots, pumpkin, tomato, yam, rice cake, bok choy, carrot, green beans(wtf)...etc..etc..etc. The food had no flavor what so ever, the service was horrible(I tipped 60 cents), and they have nothing else on the menu to offer. Also their claim to carry all organic veggies is also a farce. The bamboo shoots, canned, everything else, definetly not organic.
Do they really think that people will believe that their pumpkin, bok choy etc, etc is organic?
I obviously don't like this restaurant, but how can you blame me when all the advertisments and reviews are false. thanks for listening, and take my advice. Youd be better off at home boiling an onion with white rice.

PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

i'm sorry that you had such a horrible experience at Posh but this thread is NOT a rant thread, if you feel you must express your discontent about our food / service, please do it in the Rant forum, or post it on a restaurant review forum. I don't know exactly what you "heard" about Posh or what was advertised to you, but i think maybe your expectations were a little much if you are making such a big deal about this "authenticity" thing. I mean this is Vancouver and we don't claim to cater to Japanese folks either. You have to consider the diverse cultural backgrounds of the people who eat out. If you really want authenticity, throw a piece of iron in your backyard and cook some meat on it. That's how sukiyaki was started. This is a restaurant though and its a business (duh!), so yes, we will market some ideas that stray from the original concept. For example, we tell every customer we serve ALBERTA grade A beef. (but thats not authentic!! it has to be from japan right?? puh-lease) Giving us flak for being unauthentic just because the workers aren't Japanese and because we threw in some extra veggies in the menu?? is a little far-fetched. I haven't been working here for long but i can tell you i have not seen a single canned vegetable. I don't understand where you come off knowing whether or not our vegetables are organic, but you shouldn't assume anything unless you have evidence to back it up.
