VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - People living in the area around Grandview and Boundary will have a new big box store when Costco moves out this summer. It looks like Wal-Mart is coming to Vancouver after all.
The world's biggest retailer has been trying for Vancouver for years. Concerns over traffic and what it might mean for local merchants has kept it from Southeast Marine Drive.
Today's Vancouver Sun reports Wal-Mart is expected to open there on Grandview next year, on a site already appropriately zoned but still the news isn't welcomed by everyone.
One man this morning says he has been to a few Wal-Mart stores and he didn't think the deals were that great.
The chain believes it will fit in there and the company hasn't give up on its Southeast Marine Drive location either.
