very nice for spring/summer 08
Shoes were the shining stars of the season with styles varying from the outrageous to the streamlined and classic. Here are a few of the most wearable shoe trends for Spring 2008.
Color Block
Crazy multi-colored, multi-textured and patterned shoes with all the bells and whistles were burning up the runways (Miu Miu, Prada, Balenciaga). Hardly practical for real world wearing, but you can still get your piece of the rainbow shoe pie with a funky pair of colorful pumps. A few accents here and there and it's all gravy baby.
Gladiators
No more hippie-style flats. The gladiator trend has upped the ante with new look high heels and even gladiator "boots".
T-straps
T-strap sandals had a busy season, working the runways in many a designer collection (Carolina Herrera, Etro, Prada, Salvatore Ferregamo...). Styles range from menswear inspired classics to jewel-encrusted extravaganzas. The T-strap has made its way to wear-to-work and wear-them-out wardrobe stapledom and are widely available at the everyday affordable consumer level (Try Forever21, Target or Payless). Great for fashionistas on a budget!
Nude
Flesh-toned shoes of all shapes were hot amongst celebrities. They kinda make you look like you're barefoot. Barefoot = fresh = sexy, especially with the warmer weather. Get 'em in your skin tone. Think it's safe to predict this trend is gonna blow up this summer?
