$50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
Hey I'm just wondering how many of you have been offered that by a sales lady
just on the street. and they even have a portable ATM machine... ![]() I've been offered so many times i can't even remember in Vancouver but today I got offered the SAME offer in MONTREAL. so I'm just wondering if that thing is a scam... or its just... all the salons are connected or they all just use that promo? I would loveee to hear some stories!! thanks. |

Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
do you know the name of the salon or any information about it?
i remember before in hs there were these girls in my grade where they sold similar packages like that: salon, spa, entertainment, etc... and they would usually sell it at the mall, colleges, etc... and they would make commission on how many they sold. i would see how much information they have about the salon and an address or something like that... because once you swipe your card.. you never know what will happen! Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
nope. its usually random and they'd say its right across the street
maybe they just do that when there's a new salon opened. but its just weird that all the packages are the same... |

Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
oh btw.. this seems too good to be true. $50 for $250 value!? and if it is true... it's probably not good because why would they have to promote so much and give away so much?

Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
one time when i was working one really aggressive sales came into our store... stating they were offering a promotion to mall employees where there was a similar deal as above...
She said everything sooo fast and hard i was like... shut up in my head and was startled... and i was like ill think about it and wanted to keep the pamflet to look at BUT she wouldnt even let me keep one so i was like fuck that im not even gonna think about it |

Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
This lady came to BCIT and offered it to me. She actually didn't mention it at all. The lady talked for about 10mins and said it as if I'm already signed up for it. I didn't end up doing it, but my friends did. They said it wasn't that great.

This is the one with the four visits right? ABCD? Yeah, this lady came into my store at work and she offered it to my co-worker and me. We got so excited, we bought it right away. After I went home, my mom gave me a lecture about how it's all a trick to get you to buy their products etc. I ended up giving my package away.

Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
this happened to me a couple of times at ubc. when i was first approached, i was with a group of friends and i was the only one who wanted to do it, but they didn't accept debit, so i didn't go through with it. when i told my brother and my mom, they both said they were glad i didn't buy it, that it was most likely a scam.
i've always wanted spa packages like that, but i'm glad i didn't go through with it. might as well pay a lil more for quality you can trust, right? |

Re: $50 for a $250 value @ salon ??
I was offered a $50 flat fee from a choice of 3 different packages (haircut, color, eyebrow shaping, massage, nails etc) quite the variety.
The lady looked around my age and was dressed casual. She told me that it was a rare offer, with only room for about 30 people for this deal and that I could invite others, but would have to fill in their names on the spot. This was a couple days before Mother's day around 11:30am? I already had a hair appointment coming up and I'm very picky. I'd rather want quality over quantity. At the time I thought it was too good to be true, but I think this was to promote the new salon, which opened not to long ago in Metrotown (near the skytrain/ office towers) or it could be for a salon near Metrotown; not so sure. I probally should have taken note of the salon name, I think it started with the letter Z, if that's any help. I was in a rush so I skimmed the pamphlet too fast :( Last edited by dax : 07-05-2008 at 12:38 AM. |

Hey Honeydipped! did the person you gave it to tell you anything about it? because I need to get a haircut.. and I wouldn't mind getting a highlight, haircut and my nails done for $50 bucks. |
