    weave-in hair extensions in vancouver

i'm NOT looking to buy any hair extensions, but i've had hair extensions for 5 years and i'm finally thinking about taking them out. my hair dresser who does them for me just recently moved to maple ridge and i really don't want to make the trek out there to have them taken out. does anyone know any salons here who are experienced with woven in hair extensions (with the cornrows and everything)?

Um I saw a person on craigslist that will do 3 rows for 80$ she said she's had 4 years experience. I think thats pretty cheap.

I have taken hair extensions classes before. I could do them for you.

lady.luxe who does your extensions and how much do they cost (excluding hair)?

I'm debating whether to get them or not because I'm scared it'll damage my hair once I take them out.

Re: weave-in hair extensions in vancouver

ko0ty, i first got my extensions about 4-5 years ago from mohair studios, but the owner fired all the employees so i stayed loyal to my stylist and kinda followed her around. she was renting a chair from yucatan in coquitlam and now she recently opened her own salon (salon rouge), but it's all the way in maple ridge!

i can't really give u an estimate cause i got it so long ago and she just charges me for hair and tightening. i think it was about $40/row for tightening and the hair really depends on the grade. the cheapest is indian hair at like $60/oz and then european hair, but i never got that so i don't know how much that is. i've gotten virgin russian hair which is the best and that costs an arm and a leg...about $120/oz.

i'm sure she has starters packages now that includes installation and hair, but i'm really not sure. she's a great stylist and she's cheap. i once dyed my whole head blonde and i'm chinese so i have black hair. she charged me $60 and it looked waaay better than a lot of my friends who paid close to $300 for theirs. she's very reasonable in price, but just far...

if ur up for the drive, u can book a consultation with her at 1.604.477.4405 (her name's fallyne) and u can tell her ur veronica's friend.

    Is this the same girl?

Do they damage your hair when you take it out?

I've been talking to another stylist about hair extensions with the micro beading method but she's pretty expensive and I don't know if I want to splurge that much on my hair.

^ yeah that's the same girl. salon fallyne was when she was renting that chair in coquitlam, now it's salon rouge.

i don't think they damage ur hair when u take it out. i guess i'll find out today 'cause i'm getting them removed at 5:30 =)

never heard of micro beading, but it sounds like extensive work. i think the cheapest option is the clip ons. my girlfriend bought some off ebay and i was very surprised at how nice and natural it looked.

Re: weave-in hair extensions in vancouver

I hear alot of people say how glued and weaved hair extensions can make you lose hair. Here's an article I just found:

It is a well known fact that hair extensions can do damage to your natural hair. The glue that is attached to your natural hair can burn and split the ends of your hair. This means that you will almost always be required to have the ends of your hair cut after the extensions are removed.

Also, if a lot of long or heavy extensions are added, the extra weight applies additional pressure to your scalp. One of the dangers of extra pressure to your scalp can be a thinning of your natural hair. In some cases there have been reports of headaches from the added weight of the hair or allergies to the bonding glue that is used. Everyone is different and will react to hair extensions in a different way. They are not necessarily good or bad. It depends on a number of factors that you have to consider.

If you are trying to grow your hair long, you might want to think seriously of the potential damage the hair extensions could do. However, if you only would like a new look for a few months and are prepared to lose some inches along with the extensions, they can be a great solution.

Traction alopecia is a common result of hair extensions
