Black Nail Polish vs. French Manicure

Im a french manicure addict, I rarely have anything but a french, but now im seeing the black color come in, I think it looks pretty cool.

I just want some opinions.....for example does black look better on short or long nails? Too bold of a color???

Re: Black Nail Polish vs. French Manicure

Oh ya, black definitely looks better on short nails. Well, not too short but not long nails. I like the dark nail look since its winter time n gloomy. Although I love french manicures. Looks good with anything and for everything.

Re: Black Nail Polish vs. French Manicure

I love them both. I've always been addicted to french manicures too! I've even learned how to do them myself and i've gotten pretty good at it. I think black looks pretty cool too. I'm thinking about trying it out sometime because i've always thought it was too bold. But definitely you should have not too short not too long nails if you're getting black. If you're getting a french manicure then long square nails look better.

Re: Black Nail Polish vs. French Manicure

I've had my nails done French mani style and then short with black polish. I'd say both are fun but express different looks. Right now I'm so into the black polish look.

Re: Black Nail Polish vs. French Manicure

i hate how people in school thinks this look is "emo" look.
just because your finger nails are black, doesn't make you emo.
and this look is not emo anymore as you can see,
emos are into the rainbow stockings and pokemon backpacks
(at least thats how the emos dress at my school lols)

LoL. Totally agree with you.
I looove black nail polish... too bad my mom thinks it's satanic.
Yeah, those rainbow stockings are really 'in' with the emo crowd.
Although at my school, they like their Strawberry Shortcake and Barbie backpacks better than Pokemon... maybe those Pokemon ones are Asian emos. LOL.
I like French too, but you have to get them done all the time, and it's a pain in the ass, because money just floats out of your pocket. Black nail polish is cheap and looks okay if it's chipped.
