Gross hair roots?

I dont know what happened to my hair but it used to be pretty healthy cause I've never dyed it at all. But for the past month, especially at the roots, my hair has been really oily and "hard" near the top. Its kinda hard to explain but near the roots, my hair is oily and even though I lather&rinse with my shampoo twice, the "gunk" is still there. Its like I've put tons of gel in my hair to make it flat, but I never wear any hairspray or gel. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Is it just product buildup or something from my shampoo? Help please! It's getting really gross.

Re: Gross hair roots?

yeah try switching shampoos, sometimes when i use the same shampoo for months for some reason i get weird itchy feeling on my scalp and it gets kinda oily so i switch shampoos everytime i finish a bottle (like one of those big kinds you buy at salons).
