Make-up Brushes

I was planning to get some make up brushes
Does anyone recommend anything?
PLEASE don't say MAC, because i'm not paying 40bucks for each brush
I know they have good quality, but i'm actually planning to wait until they have the special at mac where they sell the mini brush set for liek 70 bucks.. but that's not till christmas, but for now i a set.

I just want a set, decent price, the bristles don't fall out and it's actually good.
Has anyone tried the faceshop brushes? or Quo at shopper drugmart? or the Annabelle brushes from superstore?

A dollar for a make up brush is really cheap, but how's the quality?

DO NOT get the all over face brush from ELF.. it sheds like crazyy. I don't mind their eye brushes but they are nothing compared to [Mac] brushes. Lol sorry I know you didn't want anyone to suggest Mac.

You can probably go to an art store and buy some art brushes too. They are cheap and works (as I heard).

i know mac brushes are awesome, but i'm just starting to use brushes in my make up application, i want to start with some cheaper brushes first, see if i like using them etc. It would be such a waste if i buy mac ones, and don't use them.

I think the brushes from Quo line at Shoppers are okay. They're synthetic unlike MAC so they're more affordable. Also Mary Kay has a good set of brushes that are natural hair. I got my set from ebay for about US$30

The BodyShop has "award-winning" brushes, and they are so soft and they don't shed. it's about $10-$15 per brush though..

yea... never tried elf but i dont think it works too welll..... maybe try looking in superstore =)

yeah; the body shop ones are pretty damn good and last quite a while =] they're also against animal cruelty and the quality is good!

yah i was looking at their website, the brushes are around 15-20 each
and i was ebaying and saw MaryKay ones, a set of 5 for 20 bucks US.
I heard lots of good reviews about both brushes...
can't decide which to get

I think Quo brushes are quite good. They are very soft and they rarely shed.
