What hair colour for dark hair? Help me!

I need help with my hair colour!
So I have dark dark brown medium-long straight hair, with choppy layers all around, and a slight side bang. I got red streaks a while ago and they looked awesome on me, especially with my skin tone, which is olive. But then the highlights faded to like a copper-ish colour, which I wasn't a huge fan of, so instead of doing the red again, i opted for a brown over top of the red.. and now after about 2 months or so , my highlights/streaks look copper again.. in my eyes I see orange.
I was thinking of now just getting rid of the highlights and going over my entire hair or maybe just the top half of my head (since thats the part I have ever dyed) one solid colour.. i was thinking like a violet-brown or violet red brown or something, but just enough so it almost blends in with the dark brown? I dunno! Any suggestions? Also... if I get this done, are my streaks going to go away completely? Because I want them to! I have an appointment at the salon on saturday, so I was thinking should i just dye my streaks an almost black colour today and get her to go over it? I have noooo clue what to do? I just HATE these streaks b/c they look coppery-orange in my hair... and I want a new look... i really need some advise/help!! plzz

Did you get your hair bleached previously?? If so then that's probably what's causing the orangey copper color. That happens with me whenever i bleach my hair to obtain another color like red or light brown.
I would suggest getting a darker brown than what you previously had, and ask your stylist to use a permanent solution so it won't fade as much. If you're afraid of damaging, then get semi-permanent, and then buy shampoo/conditioner that's formulated for brunettes (ie. Sunsilk color boost for brunettes, or John Frieda), to help lock in the color. It's exactly what i'm doing for my hair now and it works.

No i dont think they bleached it... he just put the red on and then it turned copper after like 2 months and then i got brown on top of it but it looks orangey to me.. but if I do the darker colour on top of that, i'm afraid that it will fade and you'll see the streaks underneath, is there a way to get rid of the streaks completely? Would the permanent colour hide it permanently? Or fade out.
I actually saw this girl with the same colour and complexion as me, and she had like a voilet-brown colour around her whole head, and i thought it looked amazing.. i was thinking of going for that look, but i just dont want the coppery streaks to show threw?

I Think red dye has a tendency to fade to orangey copper tones, there's nothing you can do about it unless it's permanent red dye. Just make sure you tell your stylist exactly what you want (that you want those streaks to disappear). They should also show you samples of the different shades of brorwn you can choose from and ask what they recommend for your hair.

If it's the red that is the culprit, you can try going to a salon to get the red tones stripped from your hair; it's very damaging though but it works. If you have bleach in your hair and you dye it dark, the bleach will eventually show through so you might need to do it a couple times just so the dye soaks right into your hair (not all at once of course!). This is just from personal experience.

red fades quickly no matter what. even if you used permanent, semi, or got it done at a professional salon. it's just the way it's made. bleaching your hair and then applying a red demi is the best way. it last longer than just using a permanent red dye. for me, the red faded into a pink rather than a copper-brown. you won't be able to cover it completely. after a couple of shampoo, the color underneath will show even if you put jet black over it. you could get a brown, black or whatever color done permanently and re-touch it every month or so with demi.
