Re: tips for apply @ starbucks please

You can call, ask for the manager, tell him/her who you are, when you dropped off your application, and ask if he/she's had the time to look it over yet.

Re: tips for apply @ starbucks please

well here's an update for n e one who's interested: i applied to the 2 brentwood ones and the lougheed.

the lower brentwood manager said she's look for ppl available @ 9 in the morning and she recommended me to apply to the holdom 1 when it opens.

i've been unable to contact the upper brentwood manager or lougheed manager yet =[

Mostly likely, yep. It's not that bad! It'll all come really easily to you after a few weeks of practice. I work at a coffee shop that's similar to Starbucks and we have cheat sheets lying around somewhere incase we forget recipes, but most of them are memorized anyways. If other people can do it, I'm sure you can too.

Re: EDIT: working @ starbucks

b/c my friend who works @ starbucks tried to get her "free" drink during her week of training and they acutally charged her. so i dont know if its b/c it doesn't apply to trainees or the ppl didn't recognize her b/c she's new.
i dont want that to happen to me and be like " uh i work here..." and then the cashier will have to go check...that'd be embarassing

andddd she also told me that b/c she's new they kinda forced to do most of the cleaning. =[ >< no fair!

has that happened to you?

Re: EDIT: working @ starbucks

wow! i work at starbucks and your friend's experience sounds pretty bad.. when i first started my training, i got free drinks before and after my shifts, during my break too. even during my interviews they offered me a drink. my coworkers were really nice about it.. you can get your coffee markout during the first week too

"new" people don't get stuck cleaning most of the time, but if your shift is the preclosing shift, your job is to do a lot of cleaning (and closing shift too)

Re: EDIT: working @ starbucks

you get 30% off all merchandise + food/drinks (drinks are free when you work) and each week you get a free pound of coffee or box of tea :D.. the free coffee beans/ tea is called your weekly markout

Re: EDIT: working @ starbucks

yikes soso! what location are you @ ?
it's been pretty good for me. i didn't get my markouts/free drinks b/c i can only get there as soon as my shift starts, and i dont want to waste my break lining up as it'll take too long and as soon my shift ends the store's already closed -_-
