Question bank jobs?

Hey guys, I was wondering if banks would accept/hire university students who aren't in Business or Commerce? I'm double majoring in English and Poli Sci, which don't really have anything to do with banking, but I'd really like to work at a bank.

Re: bank jobs?

I'm interested in bank jobs as well. I know that you have to be at least 19. I wonder what type of experience is best to have on my resume that would help get the job. Perhaps some sort of past customer service experience?

Re: bank jobs?

Bank jobs don't require much experience. Several of my friends applied and got in just like that. Of course you'll need to have graduated highschool. And some customer service experience is a bonus too.

Re: bank jobs?

You don't really need any background school stuff for working at a bank. My brother applied to a bank because he just wanted a job and he started off at the teller and after being there for a while he works in his own little office now. They pretty much give you all the training you need.

you need a bachelor's degree i believe before you can get into the management trainee program. but for the most part, banks consider people who are already have bank experience. the people who give you loans, for the most part, aren't managers. but normally you can work your way into those positions starting as a CSR.

Not true, I know a bank manager who only has a diploma in communications from BCIT.

Re: bank jobs?

My brother told me to apply when I was looking for a job last year. He just said all I need is grade 12 math, and they'll teach you starting at the teller position. =) Goodluck for whoever is going to apply, I think it'll be a good job =) I have lots of buddies working at different banks.
