Finishing touches are added to Holt Renfrew's new luxury store in downtown Vancouver.

He points to the atrium overhead where triangles of light illuminate the new Holt Renfrew department store - due to open on May 31.
"It's wonderful isn't it?" says Balaski, the store's general manager, just weeks before the unveiling. "It's very open, bright and airy."

And it's big. Very, very big. At more than 137,000 square feet, the store - relocated and completely remade - has doubled in size.
"This store is a beautiful structure," says Balaski, listing off what he describes as haute couture elements like imported tile and custom cabinetry. It will also have a concierge service, valet parking and personal shopping rooms, he says.
On the top level, a rooftop restaurant is set to open in September, while the bottom level will house a fully-equipped, 6,000-square-foot spa and salon.

It's located at 737 Dunsmuir, Downtown Vancouver.

I checked it out today. It's huge (3 levels)!!! Very bright and spacious. When I got to the purse section I was in heaven. Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga (saw the Motorcycle bag for $1500), Coach, Prada, Fendi, Miu Miu, LV, Dior, Marc Bouwer and Lamb to name a few. My only pet peeve was the makeup/perfume (ladies) section felt very compact and tight spaced. They should of given that department more space. Very busy today! Ive heard from some ppl that it feels like a Nordstrom to them. One good thing is that u dont really feel out of place in there. Unlike the old HR, this one feels more welcoming.

I think in general the amount of inventory is the same; although LV was more spaced out, it felt more linear which was weird.

i passed by today. it's so huge and pretty. the bottom level was cosmetic, the 2nd level was women wear, and i think the 3rd level is the men wears.

Yeahh I'm planning on going within the next week. My aunt told me it is soo nice.
