Who/What influences you in how you dress?

Though we all dress for ourselves, I assume, we are also all influenced by the things around us that inspire or ferment ideas of creativity in the way we clothe ourselves. Some people admire celebrities, some use books or television or movies, some people even use music and art.

What influences what you dress like?
And what do you dress like?

I can distinguish what inspires me; I'm influenced by the aesthetics of:
1. Movies: Fight Club, Fear and Loathing, Domino
2. Books: American Psycho, anything by Charles Bukowski and J.D. Salinger
3. Recently, the glossy luxury of Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass
4. Indie rock/experimental music: Interpol, Neutral Milk Hotel, Explosions In The Sky, Jesus and Mary Chain

I clothe myself eccentrically - I often have vintage items on me, I love pearls, wear very tall heels, tights, mini dresses and skirts, cashmere and I barely wear anything that other people have. I pretty much stick to a colour scheme of red, black, blue and white.

what inspires my clothing? well.....mostly wut i see in stores...if i like it...i'll try it out......i really like nicole ritchie's style and the current ashley simpson's style is not bad either.

i really do like blair style from gossip girl but it's not practical for my lifestyle...i have a laid back lifestyle...which only consist of a few looks:

carefree and comfy: printed and non printed hoodies with sweats or supplex pants...and all that juicy casual stuff.

dressy casual: designer denim flare, straight leg or skinny jeans with non-expensive to expensive flats...with flowy tunic tops and peacoats

mild punk/rocker style: smet tees with skinny jeans...and all those graphic tees and tanks with skulls, daggers etc. lol.

I wear whatever I think looks good. I prefer clothes that are not common (i.e. trends) because I like to stand out. But, it still needs it to be attractive to most people (I won't wear wierd looking things just to stand out). Colour is also a VERY important thing for me. I love deep colours like dark purple, forest green, blood red, burgundy. I also love textured fabric or prints that appear textured (i.e. melange prints).

MAGAZINES and websites. I also notice how other people dress on the streets.

and many times I just mix and match the stuff I have in my closet, after all you can only wear what you own, and I've found a style that I've never thought of before :)

japanese fashion - i love how they're so cute and pretty~
i also have a petite asian frame so much as i love looking at western styles, i tend to drift have to more asiany stuff cuz i cant really fit anything else....
