Free People

Hey guys, i'm sure everyone here is a fashionista in their own right but I just want to share with you one of my favourite brands right now: Free People.

I'm not really about following trends, I just wear what I like. And alot of the FP stuff, I like! They do mostly just wardobe basics but put in the detailing to make it unique!

Many other stores and online sites carry their stuff.

check them out first hand at It's more fun/indie so it may not be for you simple/mod dressers!

I just ordered this:

and I am soo excited!

Also, when you order online there's no tax!! woohoo.
However, beware living in Canada b/c shipping cost me 45 with UPS Canada! Definately be smart and pool your order or order with a friend!

yeah! and have you seen some of the little boots?? they're sooo cute but they ring up at like 200 a pair! ziga zow.

For me free people is just so refreshing b/c i mean i love van but we're not that big! i can't afford holts everytime and i'm really picky about what i buy. Then, over the last like 5 seasons all the stores have kind of merged into the same shit stores that carry the same top in different fabrics in different colours. BORRRINGG.

Like my biggest peeve was with aritzia. they JUST changed their bodies this season. i am so tired of all those slinky v-neck tanks and cookie cutter wilfred tops. it was realy nice the first season when it came out and i was like MUAHAA! but now once again, several seasons later it's STILLLLLL AVAILABLE!! grr. don't like wearing the same stuff as other people.

I'll let you guys know when it comes! maybe some pictures :O!!!

agreed. although I must admit the last thing I bought was that wilfred wool trench with the flat metal buttons.. izz naice, tho.

ooh, I bet your wardrobe is banging then! I feel I have a really long torso in comparison with the rest of my bod so I'm never satisfied how tops work for me. I think alot of their instore brand, propaganda, is really cute! but once againn, my longass torso impedes *tear!

also, i think plen+y was like one of the first places that carried harajuku lovers when gwen first came out with the line! I was really excited but all that was available were the cute caricature tee's. the style of the tee was more laid back, like a guys tee. I like mines a little more tapered and feminine ie. TAAAIIIGHT. lol

vancouver needs more stores. S I G H

You think Vancouver needs more stores?! Vancouver is like... fashion CAPITAL of Canada. Toronto is definitely behind =( Everyone here shops at Aritzia, Roots and Guess. That's all. Barely anyone has an original sense of taste.

As for the original topic... Free People is such a cute brand. I always eBay it :)

NOT more chain stores!!

Yeah, b/c my dad is in computers he has to go to conferences at different places. if it doesn't interfer with my school/work sched sometimes I get to go with him and by far my favourite city to shop is phoenix.

Yeah they have malls etc but i'm not a big fan of chain stores. Where I stayed I was really near this little shopping area of I guess independant-owned stores? Those were sooo fun b/c they carried their own selections of brand names and also brands i've never heard of/local designers! I want vancouver to have more of those!! If A&F comes I could friggin care less.

The only place in van we have those is gastown and there's not many. Believe me, if I had more money to spend on my wardobe I would shop at The Block all the time and get my dresses only from One of a Few! so yes, more stores more stores!

Thanks, diandian! But nono, trust me inside I am a big nerd and proud of it! I just live in a family of girls (minus my gpa) so we cover alot of brands lol. From OshKosh b'gosh (lil cousins) to my mom and her lv and burberry L_L.. she's semi-obsessed, i'd say.

I think teenage/young brands are okay just as long as you don't go overboard and realize following what everyone else is wearing is effing boring as hale.

In hs I worked at AE p/t and some of my coworkers.. I guess they really loved the brand or maybe they just loved the 40% off discount, their WHOLE closet was american eagle (live your life!). Like yeah, we had to wear it for work or get yelled at/sent home but even when I saw them outside of work on the street or at parties they wore head to toe ae.. and now that they have aerie I wonder if even underneath it all.. O_O.

And don't get me started on the old supplex days !! grr.

I think as long as you have wardrobe basics to work with + some trendy stuff to spice it up it's totally cool. trends will come and go, but you still have to wear some sort of clothing everyday! at least if you don't want to get arrested.

i just have no sympathy for those to focus heavily on one or two stores/brands. Like I am not friggin gonna wear aritzia when i'm 35. gross!

There's this one white girl at SFU I totally admire. I think she's in business? b/c I always see her in WMC (business building) and her style is TOTALLY her own. Wear what you like!

plus who knows! Maybe by 35 I can afford Holts e'errday then *sunglasses.

(secretly, I would love to trade places with Victoria Beckham. I want her kids. AHA)

OMG. have you seen the store on hastings i think it might be roche bobois? or i might be getting it mixed up with another store. it's nice there!

but after I moved out for a year my mom totally took to revamping up our house and she gave away our old comfy leather sofas and got these really mod seude pieces. they're really nice but omfg i'd soo soo rather have our old couches back! T_T took me 15 years to mold my perfect cartoon-->gossip girl seat.
