Some friends are asking me to go. I was wondering if any of you have gone. I'm iffy about going because admission is $14 and you also pay to try out the food. I don't cook very much, well, at all practically and don't know if I would find what is there useful or entertaining. I do like the idea of sampling various foods tho.

I can't find the other thread :x but who went? I was volunteering yesterday and today and it was hell for this morning. Any body try the wine/ beer?

I didn't go b/c I'm not all that amused watching pple cook. I don't really cook myself but just make simple food to eat, like salads, pasta, etc.

My friends went on Saturday and had lots of fun! They bought this really yummy candy. It's old fashioned candy that takes like crispy crunch in the center and pretty expensive. You might know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, my friend forgot to give me some. :(

This event seems pretty popular. What are the perks of volunteering for this place?

2 free tickets to Eat Van, and if you volunteer on the last day I got tickets to Eat! Fraser Valley up in abbosford in sept. Uhm i think you get a letter of reference. I'm not sure if i get one, since I was 'managing' the high school kids for their hours. Ohh man it feels nice to give the lazy ones a bad review.

haha i'm not on here much. hence why my posts are only at 6. btwn soompi and other korean forums, i never remember to surf these ones at home! its only cuz i'm at work and i'm supposed to promote work stuff online that have an excuse to surf forums!!

u said volunteering was hell. what part was bad? the lazy volunteers or just the job of greeting customers itself?? i'm really curious cuz that's the job where there's always too many ppl that want it cuz they think its easy

you were right.. it was like a hoard of people coming in before we even finish setting things up.

and it's not easy =___= who ever said 'easy jobs' exist is wrong..

i know, its a serious mob of ppl..and it doesn't help when alot of ppl want to snatch more than one bag and that leaves like, 8,000 ppl w/out bags! O.o

ALOT of ppl, i'd say over 70% of volunteers want to be gatehosters.

oi, I'll volunteer again next year. I forgot to respond to your e-mail and i don't know where abouts it is now... gate hosting was a nightmate.

haha, well next year you can volunteer to work in wine services (which is even more hectic) or as a stage hand. you'll be old enough to do either i take it. =)

Yup im 19 now. i heard how hectic it was at the wine part.
