bombshell =] it doesn't matter caff or vending machine, we'll be selling the products just to test them out for next year.

Re: healthy food school fundraiser

i love yogurt and veggies!

we just got rid of all the pop vending machines at my school this year. now we only sell apple juice, water, and other fruit juices for $1.25 a can or $1.50 a bottle. lots of people drink it, so i think people would definitely buy it.

also does your school have a cafeteria? mine serves lunch everyday. we used to serve french fries but we had to get rid of them since it was considered junk food. i think the healthiest thing we serve is salad. clubs are also allowed to fundraise at lunch by selling food. currently people are selling things like sushi, fresh slice pizza, dim sum (ha gau and su mai, LOl excuse my phonetic spelling), and viet subs, but i guess those aren't really THAT healthy. however it's good for fundraising.

Re: healthy food school fundraiser

i know when i was in highschool we had wraps and sandwiches... so maybe trying to make those more healthier. For example: veiggie wraps, whole grain bread. Also like i don't remember but if they can choose the sides like salad vs. fries.

how about having fruit available for them to buy? like not in a fruit cup but like a banana, or apple, or orange that they can just grab and go?

Re: healthy food school fundraiser

at my school, i think they over price all the healthy stuff WAY TO MUCH
like our "fruit cups" are more expensive than fries or pop
and the quantity is way less

oh and for juice, i'd say go for sunripe.
their juice doesn't have as sugar in comparison with dole or five alive...etc
and its also the healthier choice

-edit-
oh trailmix, pretzels and sunchips are a healthier alternative too

Re: healthy food school fundraiser

how about like:
thin crust veggie pizza and or with chicken
chicken bake (ie. like costco... but not as much cheese)
hummus and pita
greek salad

i once saw these things that was a breaded traingle spinach thing. i doubt it was healthy because it was probably fried, but it does have spinach!

i'm getting hungry now...

Re: healthy food school fundraiser

It was probably baked tortillias / pita bread with a spinach dip. They serve it at kelseys (I think it was kesleys). Its quite good.

spanakopitas? love 'em! they're spinach and feta cheese wrapped in phyllo dough. i don't think they're fried though, like the ones i make i bake. the unhealthy thing from spanakopitas would be the butter in the phyllo! everything else is good for you though!
