Re: The-Reccommend-a-Hair-Salon Thread.

Toni & Guy
Downtown on Alberni Street (before robson st)
Multicultural, (in my case i made an appointment with Eva who i believe is.. chinese/vietnamese)
Expense range.. well depending on how detailed of a cut you want the price will vary.
For instance i got quite a complicated cut which took about 50 minutes to complete or so and it costed me $35, for more of a basic cut its $20 and if you want what their specifying on atm i believe its as low as $10-15. Anyways, ask for Eva when you make an appointment if your planning to get it done there.
I recommend it because their quite precise(sp?) when it comes to getting exactly what you want and they take the time to do it just right. I just brought in a photo and pretty much got what i wanted (look at my dp)

hopefully this helps, goodluck!

#1 : Trendz and Changes
#2 : 150-8351 Alexandra Road richmond bc v6x 1c3 phonenumber 604 273 7553
#3 : from what i saw... it was Caucasian but prob has some other ethnicity lol
#4 : 42 dollars plus tax? ask for jade or desiree (desiree did my hair and jade did my friends, desiree gives 20 percent off first timers both are pretty young and good)
#5 : It was kinda funny because on alexandra raod youd expect asian salons but my friend is caucasian so i was like hahha i didnt know its asian we walk in and its caucasian .. lol NOT LIK EIT MATTERS anyhow.. the girls know what they are doing... i really liked my haircut.. and they give u a nice head massage while washing ur hair. the price is not too bad tho im used to getting it done by the same salon who always charge me less than 20 but... i never seem to be IN LOVE with the cut... this time im in love and im definatly going back soon :) definatly reccomend it XD

Re: The-Reccommend-a-Hair-Salon Thread.

I reccomend mega hair salon, ONLY Christina and Jeanie though. Jeanie is good with hair cuts, Christina is good with blonding and punky edgy cuts ( ILOVE IT! ) and cuts are 40 colour starts at 80+ Christina is REALLY busy though so book an appointment like 3 weeks to a month ahead of time. And if you don't like how your hair turned out or it didn't turn out the way you wanted it ,they are allowed to fix it no charge(most of the time) or its jsut a little amount and do it until you like it.
It's near 100 and 152 in the same plaza as T&T in Surrey

Re: The-Reccommend-a-Hair-Salon Thread.

Can I give a salon to avoid??? I think that is just as good advice: STAY AWAY FROM MISAKOs
Unless you speak fluent Japanese, and even then, I would not recommend any of the Misako salons for anyone. I had healthy long hair (Korean) and wanted a shorter cut (a style I've had before, and really liked). I chose Misako bc I figured they would be good for my very asian hair. WRONG. It looks awful, really terrible, I got the opposite for what I asked for. They undercut it so much and so roughly that it looks like a shag carpet, with a nice overcomb of a tiny bit of "smooth hair". I can't say how disappointed I was. The service afterwards was really defensive and rude. NOT worth it.

Re: The-Reccommend-a-Hair-Salon Thread.

Kaen on Robson Street. This is a japanese salon I have long hair and my haircut was $42.00 . They give you a relaxing scalp message and its nice and quiet in there. To get there you have to go through the asian grocery store to the door on the left hand wall and go up the stairs :)

Re: The-Reccommend-a-Hair-Salon Thread.

#1 : Aoi Beauty Studio.
#1.5 RECOMMEND HAIRSTLIST: KENSEI <--- the best
#2 : The Address : On Beatty and I think West Pender.. really close to Stadium skytrain.
#3 : Ethnicity: Japanese
#4 : Expense Range Only for a Haircut: $40 - $50
#5 : Why you recommend this Salon: I only go to one hairstylist (Kensei) and he is SO nice and the best hairstylist there. The others don't even compare. Also the place is clean and very comfortable. Prices are a little on the higher side but i think it's soo worth the results.
