Telus starting is about $18+ bonus

i am just looking at different job options. but thanks for the heads up! many jobs can be dangerous but it all depends on the person and their experience. his current job can be dangerous too. he told me about gas leaks and all these other stories about harness and pipes, etc... he also told me that this apprentice was doing something and he got his finger chopped off..

There was a case where a intern female got her hair stuck into some sort of machine.. and you can imagine the rest. :\ (at a sawmill)

I would recommend looking into trades section? There are soo many companies that are in need of trade workers. I know shipyards pay a lot, and also mines. Depending on his experience, around $36/hr starting?

I think bombshell said that he did a course as a boilermaker which is a trade, and there arent many jobs down here for trades people that is why he is working in alberta? I dont think they'll start you off with 36 right off the boat because that is way too high, especially if he is just an apperentice and hasnt gotten his journey man ticket, based on his experience i think he'll get around 20-25. But there arent many jobs in vancouver in that field and working in a sawmill is a totally different type of job. Wouldnt that affect his time in getting his journey man ticket ? Because I think he need a certain number of hours and experice and thne has to take a test again ? My cousin is in trades so thats why I know a lot about it ! He also works in alberta, fort mckay I think ! Well goodluck to him !

Re: Jobs that pay $18 + starting?

actually.. There are tons of trades openings in Vancouver right now, but not as high paying as Alberta. (my dad works in the field of trades). The high demand for trades workers is why highschools are encouraging students to pursue trades fields (ace it program). however I am not familiar with boiler makers. Lol sorry not much help. But I did hear my dad say that there was this young guy that got paid 18 for just sweeping 0_0

Well, the average pay for janitors is around $14 - $16 an hour I think?

BC Ferries, Translink and Canada Post have high paying jobs if you qualify.
