Question Blenz Coffee interview?

Yesterday, I saw a job posting for barista on craiglist for blenz. I really didn't think I'd get a reply, but I got a reply, for a group interview on Wednesday downtown. Does anyone know what they'll ask/do? I'm guessing it's something like the Playland/PNE group interivew....but harder I'm guessing :P

Oh, do you have to bring anything? Like refrence letters? Thank you!

Re: Blenz Coffee interview?

Reference letter is not required in nearly all entry level jobs.

Group interviews are generally very relaxed. Most of the time, it is consisted of the interviewer asking a series of behavioral questions. Study samples of these type of questions, formulate your answers before you go to the group interview, and you will do just fine!

Don't freak out if you don't know much about coffee or Blenz - employers don't necessary prefer people who know everything. They are more focused on "prospects" that is willing, and capable to learn.

Good luck! And let us know how it goes...

Re: Blenz Coffee interview?

i think it's good to have a reference letter just in case.

group interviews are usually for them to see you work with others, take leadership, etc...
it's also easier to compare you with the other people applying. make sure you speak out and not be shy...

I didn't expect that they'd do a group interview in downtown..
yes you will be earning minimum wage for a long period.
when i worked there was no training, you just learn it from other people
i didn't like how employees are treated, but the employEEs who work there are awesome :)

and blenz coffee is always hiring....
if they didn't call you back, there is a GREAT chance that they just forgot to.

I'm surprised the the metrotown location is having a group interview downtown, just like jazuresky its unexpected ! I think they're having a group interview because the metrotown location is always hiring because no one stays there very long. I used to work there, didnt get any proper training the training was " observing" and watching other co-workers. Which isnt proper training in my opinion, they boss I wont mention his name ( but am very tempted to ) he got mad at me the second day because he thought I wasnt working and making the drinks, it was my second day of TRAINING how did he expect me to learn all the drinks. What else..... you get paid min wage, I remember the manager when I worked she opened, closed, did everything from morning to night and guess how much she got paid.......... NINE freaking bucks ! It amazed me, because there was so much work and she got paid so little, I'm pretty sure she quit and found a better paying job ! I never go to blenz anymore, well not after I quit A) that would be awkward B) I dont want to give him any business hahah . That's all I have to say, I hope you have a better work experience then I did

wow, LOL; yeah i was pretty surprised they're having a group interview. i'm pretty sure they noticed that everyone's qutting and stuff...but then again, just because they don't train at the metro location doesn't mean they don't anywhere else. hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes.

do you think i'll get this job? it's my first one and i hope to do well :D
