Question When do stores usually reply back?

Hey I have applied to a couple of stores and I was wondering when do stores usually reply back? And if they haven't replied in a little more than a week does that mean they aren't interested?

Kthnx.

It depends lol

Calls for interviews are usually pretty quick. If they were hiring, they usually will call you back within 2 - 3 business days. If they weren't looking that much... haha on a off topic note, I received a call from Chapters on Robson few days ago, in which I sent my application a year ago.

Re: When do stores usually reply back?

Like AQu01rius said, it really depends on if they were hiring at the time. Did you just drop off your resume at a store you wanted to work at or did you fill out an application when the store put up a "now hiring" sign? If there was a sign you should get a call within a week... any longer than that is unlikely. However if you just dropped off your resume a lot of stores will keep all resumes for about 3 months and may keep really good resumes for until the next time they need to hire.

Re: When do stores usually reply back?

thanks for the replies you guys.
anyway i did give a resume to off the wall clothing last monday. they had a hiring sign. do you think i should call back or just leave it
also does anyone know if calling employers to see if they have read your resume actually does anything? lots of people say you should but idk if that actually works in reality.

thanks.

Re: When do stores usually reply back?

hey meilin,
i applied to the one in metrotown.
i called them just now and they said that they are always hiring and if you give it to the store manager, he's probably seen it. if you gave to a sales associate it's probably in a pile of the hundreds of other ones that they have. i have no idea who i gave it too =S

Re: When do stores usually reply back?

after about a week, u should call the store, ask to speak to the manager and ask if he/she's had time to read over ur app. from their reply you'll be able to find out if they're interested or not.

Re: When do stores usually reply back?

The shortest time I've ever got a reply in was 2 weeks.
The longest was about 6 months.
So they could call at anytime so be prepared!!
But keep applying!!
It depends how desperate they are and how suitable candidates are.
Like for the job I have right now they hired and fired 3 girls before me.
Then they called me.. and I've been here for a while now.
So, its all about the employer finding the right candidate.
