so I was working at this kiddies place...
when they first hired me I thought I was just going to be working reception,
eg. answering phones, booking parties, convincing people to book parties with us.
occasionally help out with the clean up after parties etc etc..

[ I even asked him in the interview...
by clean up you mean picking up a few cups and throwing them away.
I have no problem with that ]

so I got hired on the spot.
first day it was okay... I answered phonecalls, got trained. etc etc.
THEN the following 2 weeks was HELL...
they made me clean and etc etc.
so FINALLY i said no. I'm not vacumming your floors.
or wiping everything.

A week after that, they fired me -_-"

[ - I was looking for a job anyways
I like getting a job where I can make sales, convincing people..
and not trying to brag but I think I'm pretty good at that

and according to the Employment Standard Act.
I should get pay within 48 hours .
its been 7 days and I still haven't receieve anything.
I e-mailed them yesterday, still no reply.
- and i know for a fact that they HAVE to check company e-mail everyday.

so now I'm stuck...
should I wait it out...?
should I call them.. ?

Contact the Labour relations board. They're usually pretty good about hunting down companies that breach employee rights.

You can give it a day or two - your cheque might not be in the mail/bank yet because it is not the 15th of the month (usual payday). Try calling tomorrow to see what's up. If no reply, definitely check out your rights under Employment Standards and the Labour Relations Board. I think once you hire a case manager (which I believe is free) the company usually pays up right away.

they probably did issue your cheque within the 48 hours that they are given, and the last paycheque is usually mailed not direct deposited into your account. if it's been 7 days since you've quit, that means you quit last tuesday. so they had until late thursday/early friday to issue your cheque, then it was the weekend, which means you've technically only waited 2 days (official business days). i would wait until friday and if you still havent received it, give them (human resources) a call and ask them. if they said they issued it, then wait til monday and if it still hasnt arrived, call labour relations.

since you just emailed them yesterday, why not wait at least two days? if not give them a call/ contact them. i had my vacation pay sent to me like 3-4 weeks AFTER i quit :S

cuz I use to work at chapters and they mailed my last check like...
the next morning through express post!...

- so guys.. the company haven't said anything to me yet...
its like... no e-mail, no phonecalls, nothing.
I'm going to be calling them tomorrow and asking what's happening.
and if they give me any answer other than "you can come pick up your check"
or " its in the mail it should get to you within a few days"
I'm going to contact the Labour Relations Board.

my friend had a job at the bay. she was hired during the winter crazy season and she only did one shift and never got a call again.
she was all like "well yea i suppose they dont want me there then.." and im like what bout your check?
she said they didnt contact her or ANYTHING

you should make the move and show initative on gettting what you deserve!
you should've called them, or better yet go up to them in person and ask them.
