Makeup for males?

I'm a guy and I'm wondering if I should wear makeup to the grad dinner dance haha.. (no name calling please). I was just wondering what you people think if a guy wore make up that you knew. Like i dont want crazy makeup but just to liek touch up my face and all for the grad dinner dance. Like during the grad photos they put a little makeup on me and it wasnt that bad. So im wondering what you people think should i get makeup done or not?

If yes do you know a good place to get your makeup done and the place also does guys?
Thanks

Re: Makeup for males?

ohh, you mean like foundation and cover up? i think that's fine for an event like your grad dinner and dance. i thought you were talking about eyeliner, because that would be a no for me. i don't know about any places that would do make up for guys...it might be sorta awkard, you know? maybe get a friend who does make up well and who you're comfortable with help you get it done. my friend's mom is a MA, and she did mine for my grad. it shouldn't be too hard to find a friend or someone to do it, since you simply want foundation/cover up, right?

Re: Makeup for males?

Yea I mostly want foundation and coverup, but I rather pay a professional instead of get a friend to do it.. I think it would seem very inconvinient and kinda embarassing. I also think eyeliner would look cool like those japanese singers >.< but yea i doubt i can pull it off

Re: Makeup for males?

i think if you wore foundation and concealer if wouldn't be noticeable unless it's a obvious different colour from your skin colour. foundation and concealer is suppose to look natural like you aren't wearing makeup. i have seen a few male makeup artist at mac and they do makeovers too. you could try there and just ask for foundation and concealer instead of a full face makeover.

Re: Makeup for males?

that is a great suggestion! and you could ask about the eyeliner there, too and see how it goes. sounds like a great place to get it done, and by male MAs, too!

Re: Makeup for males?

hmm I would put something on your face for the shine. I noticed that when ever some people take pictures at the grad dinner dance, their face is shiney =x I don't know if there is a thing for it.. but yeah look good for these pictures. You never know when they come back to haunt you.

Edit: i mean before you break out into sweat.

Re: Makeup for males?

i think it will be okay if you get it professionally done. don't do it yourself because it's really hard to match skin colour (well for me it is). i think it is also a good idea to maybe put on cream that helps get rid of shine.

and remember to do little things like: tweeze your unibrow, trim your nose and ear hair, etc... because those things make a huge difference.

Re: Makeup for males?

Jean Paul Gaultier has a line of makeup and definitely Holts will have something. Bronzer is considered to be makeup for men too but its not marketed that way but think about it. Its still makeup.

You can also go to a place that is specifically male friendly like Masc in Yaletown near the Opus hair salon and Momentum on Burrard and Burnaby.
