Entertainment book coupon rip off?
My mom bought an entertainment book, and the other day, she went to A&W with one of the "FREE TEEN BURGER" coupons. Except they made her buy TWO burgers before giving her a free one.

This is what is says on the coupon:
Enjoy one complimentary teen burger when a second teen burger of equal or greater value is purchased.

So does that make sense that they made her buy two? Or did they rip her off?Because the entire entertainment book coupons says that.

And I'm planning to use the coupon for the aquarium. It says enjoy one complimentary admission when a second admission of equal or greater value is purchased.... so does that mean it's really not buy one, get one?

Somebody please explain it to me....

You have to read the fine print. The coupons are almost always BOGOF (buy one get one free).
when you use the coupon, you should have two burgers but only pay the price of one. If she has THREE burgers and one of them is free, I think it's that your mom made or the cashier an ordering mistake.

it IS buy one get one free, how are you reading this?

But in general entertainment books are rip offs because you can usually get the deals elsewhere/other methods w/o paying the extra amount.

Err.. enjoy one when a second is bought means you're buying a TOTAL of TWO, not one, not three. Your mom definitely got ripped off. That's ridiculous. I've used the A&W coupons myself already. Not only that, but the entertainment book has been around for so long so i don't know how the A&W workers could screw that up. You should go back and complain.

It depends on how bitchy the cashier/server wants to be. One time I went to the Oakridge Yogenfruz to use the BOGOF coupon on Sat and the lady there said I couldn't use it on a holiday. When did weekends become holidays?? I even told her I used it before on weekends and this is the first time I ever heard that weekends were considered holidays.

mostly all the entertainment coupons are buy 1 get 1 free... i think the cashier read it wrong and when you buy the "second burger" you get 1 free... hopefully they were just new and not someone who always does this to people.

i've used that coupon before (in the foodcourt) and i only had to purchase/buy 1 burger.. btw... where did your mom get hers?

i personally think entertainment books can be useful and a rip off too...

useful - the cheapest entertainment book is the small ones for like $15. if you eat at the food court alot than it's totally worth it.
- if you go to restaurants that usually cost $15 or more for an entree it's worth it....

rip off - it makes you spend more because you do have the coupons and "paid" for it so it makes you want to use it up.

That's just dumb.

I usually avoid buying those coupon books because I dont ever use them in the end anyway..lolz they just sit there and collect dust.
