Good things at Granville Island

I haven't been to Granville Island lately (even though my work is walking distance) and was wondering what kind of food and activities and stores you guys would reccommend? I am planning on spending a day there just lounging around. I will most likely do a lunch, walking around, visiting market place, and going on the aqua bus or something...

So if you guys could help me out with places to eat, what stores are fun to go to, and other things to do around there.

Btw... How is Cat's Meow been lately? I went there once a long time ago, but I don't remember how it was. My coworkers ordered takeout and they said it was not great at all...

Thanks in Advance!

^public market to eat, and window shopping (the items look great but so expensive XD) usually the market is crowded that won't give u enough space to walk around

Re: Good things at Granville Island

everything at granville island is so expensive! if you're opting for like a "touristy" type day then by all means lunch/snack/dessert at the food market but i think it would be fine if you brought your own food. I don't find the food there to be anything out of the ordinary but i guess it's the experience right?
There is this area just outside the marketplace where random musicians play, and there's lots of benches to sit on and enjoy. I went with my friends last time and we snacked on cherries while we listened to the music.. it was really peaceful and relaxing! The aquabus is fun and cheap... and I know you can even rent kayaks on Granville Island but only on certain days when weather permits..

Re: Good things at Granville Island

The sushi place beside the fish n' chips place is DISGUISTING.
I gave them plenty benefit of the doubts, and every time they have failed me.
Oh and never buy the bubble tea from the fish n' chips place, horrible.

For sushi there's a a slightly better place: Behind Starbucks (the entrance of Grandville Island),
there's a small plaza behind with a sushi place; cheaper too, but nothing extravagant.

Grandville Island is great for sightseeing the water views. Head in the opposite direction (Near Emily Carr) and there's a water park. Near there is a pond with many cute families of ducklings or goose lings? worth checking out haha

Re: Good things at Granville Island

There is a great fish and chips place near Granville Island called Go Fish. It's just North along the water towards Burrard Street bridge from Granville Island at a place called Fisherman's Wharf.

Re: Good things at Granville Island

That reminds me, beware of the seagulls! I was eating a hamburger near the water and a seagull swooped down and grabbed it! Amazing how fast the bird devoured it; literally inhaled it!
