Urban Behavior sometimes has some formal looking clothes.. but because they're cheap, oftentimes they look it too. Not all the time though. You should check it out.

suzy sheir usually has worklike clothes and for cheap. i bought dress pants for 10 bucks there recently

suzy shier, joe fresh (superstore), smart set have good work clothes. quality of the clothes are okay although you really have to take care of them (follow cleaning instructions, etc) to maintain it.

if you're looking for some core pieces for you work wardrobe (slacks, blazer) that you would wear all the time, zara, dynamite, gap are good buys too. more expensive but they're going to last a long time. i was at metrotown the other day and zara had some $40 blazers. they looked pretty good but didnt really spend time looking at them and actually touch them and stuff but knowing zara, it should be okay.

yeah, they have a sale at dynamite right now.. i saw a 'work clothes' on sale at the metro location.
And suzy shier has buy 1 get 1 free on sale items.. i saw a few dressy shirts there

the downside about suzy shier's dress pants is, ifyour short and have wide hips ... the pants will fit at the top but you have to get them hemmed ><"

Le Chateau has pretty nice work clothes. There's an outlet downtown @ Seymour/Dunsmuir where everything is pretty much marked down, ie, work pants generally $10 or less.
