"the first 250 people..."

So with all this hype of H&M and being the first 250 people receieving something free (giftcards w/ x amount)... it got me thinking... Well I thought about this awhile ago but this reminded me.

Say that you lined up and the store was having it's grand opening... you lined up over 2 hours (maybe even a day before) to ensure you were in the top 250. Then all of a sudden when door are opening a person infront of you lets one of their friends line up with them. Therefore pushing you back one...

So what would you do If you lined up for that long and then you didn't even get a giftcard because of that one person budging infront of you?

I have always thought about that because there are probably some people who line up early and save spots for their friends, family or even signifcant other. Maybe due to work, school, and other commitments...

Please Discuss!

Re: "the first 250 people..."

^that's what happened today. we can complain but with the way they're doing it now, they can't guarantee that people who lined up earlier get the card. in fact all they said is the "the first 250 in line". If it's "the earliest 250", they could give out a time card thing that has the time where u entered the line and then have people line up according to the time, they give it to the first 250. But you know, either way people can still cheat their way in for the gift card by budging (unless they are gonna forbid joining the line..but hey its gonna cause more controversy). I think maybe they should just not give it out...then it'll fair for everybody.

That is so extremely unfair and rude, if i knew that that was possibly the case and if i were that far back, although im not the type of person to complain, i would complain. it just isn't fair and they should be more considerate for the people who HAVE indeed taken so much time out of their day JUST to line up for these kinds of things.

Re: "the first 250 people..."

oh and for the logheed one, i was the 112th in line while they give it out for the first 100 (I thought it was the first 250 :/) I would have been there earlier if I knew where the location of the store is =.= I looked for it for half an hour!

but so what if I don't get a gift card...that wasn't the reason why I went to shop at H&M =)

i would love to say that i would stay calm but honestly, i'd probably go a bit crazy. especially since i hate line-ups and i'd be really disappointed. thank god, nothing like that has ever happened to me.
