Taste of Yaletown October 13-29, 2006

Taste of Yaletown October 13-29, 2006

"Food and wine enthusiasts are invited to relish and feast on the delicious deals offered by Yaletown's premier restaurants during the Second Annual Taste of Yaletown event, presented by American Express, October 13 - 29.
Along with featuring the fine quality, variety and hospitality of the area's creative chefs, the event will offer a veritable cornucopia of special menus, tastings, complimentary appetizers and desserts. "

Menus and list of participating restaurants will be available after Sept 29.

Most of the restaurants which participated last year are really good! Oh well, actually I think a lot of the restaurants in Yaletown are excellent.. lol. I am looking forward to the event.

Just went to Brix Restaurant tonight - kind of lackluster...could have made the food at home except for the dessert. Nice place, but mediocre overpriced food. Tried to be really chi-chi. I wouldn't bother. Try Capones for pizza/pasta and live jazz or Provence Marinaside for really fresh seafood.

I am sorry that you have had bad food. I have been there several times, mostly for their drinks and fondue. I have only eaten "real food" once, and it was a vegetarian pizza that tastes okay. It's so sad that they no longer offer the cheese fondue, but their chocolate fondue is still one of the best in town. They use Michel Cluizel chocolate! Yummm...

On the other hand, I have had very bad experience/ food at Capones. Perhaps I just had a bad night.

I like Provence too! However I have only been to Provence Marinaside once and I'd rather go to Provence Mediterranean. If you compare the menu you will realize that most of the items in the yaletown location costs a little more, and there's usually lineup for brunch. The Provence on West 10th is quieter and nicer. I love having brunch there

Yes, I definitely agree with the Provence comment. I also like the 10th ave location better, because it seems more intimate. But I was just talking about Yaletown restaurants when recommending Provence marinaside. Speaking of those, I went by Elixir on Friday night and had an amazing meal, I forgot how good this place is. Their taste of yaletown menu actually was a good deal in comparison to their regular menu.
