Carlton Elementary School on Fire

My boyfriend and I were driving by on Kingsway just about 5 minutes ago and got these photos of Carlton Elementary school on fire.... so sad!!

One of the buildings were built in 1896 making it the oldest schoolhouse in Vancouver.The 4th picture i think is just Eerie!!

We heard the sirens about 1am 1:30 am so no one was in the school and it's a Satruday but still... it' was very eeire...I smell like fire.. omg.. better take a shower!!

omg, that elementary school is right next to my grandma's house, i hope she wasn't too alarmed =(

oh wait nvm, wow i was sound asleep =/
cause around 7pm i hard alot of ambulance and stuff rushing uphill from joyce. but i guess that was something else ...

Thats so creepy..that school is ancient! i went there for four months of my life, in the 6th grade. I live like 2 blocks away and i heard nothing :S

It wasn't the main building. Beside the main brick building there's the original school then there are 2 portables that were built after the original school but before the brick building. The Fire alarm was ringing and it was pretty loud. I felt bad for all the people that lived around the area. The burned building held 2 kindergarten classes and they don't have school tomorrow while they figure out where to hold their classes... poor kids!
