portland

Has anyone been to Portland? My friends and I are planning trip there to shop.
Does anyone know which malls are best to shop at and we're staying for a night so where is the best area to stay at? (downtown?)
Any kind of info on Portland will be great!
THanks

Re: portland

Yep no tax ... but the outlets and malls there are the same as Seattle and with the gas prices and carbon tax nowadays, it would just cancel out all the money you saved not paying tax plus some more.

Here'are links to shopping centers/outlets:

Re: portland

thanks for the links!
ya, i know that the gas and hotel money is going to add up but it's like a mini road trip so its okay.
just out of curiousity, i know that its no tax in portland but LV and all the higher end stuff are no tax as well? (if so, are the prices higher than usual?)
Does anyone know about how many hours it takes to drive down?

Re: portland

Just in case you don't know it is ILLEGAL to pump your own gas in Oregon. I had no idea the first time I pulled up to a gas station there. The attendant about bit my head off when I grabbed the pump and put it in my car...
