cellphone question

I got this question thats been bothering me for quite awhile. I have this phone (samsung SCH-A950) for a year now and my contract is due in August of 08. Since this cell doesn't have a cell phone, is it possible for me to get a Sony Ericsson S500i? Also would i still be able to be on my contract without adding another year to it? Thanks for your time!

P.S does anyone know where in vancouver/richmond that sells the SE S500i? and know the cost of it? THANKS!

Hmm, not quite sure what you're asking. If you could be a little bit more clear on your problem.
Here are some things you might want to know. If you have a sim card style phone, you can purchase and use any sim card phone for the company that you're with or any unlocked phone. And you can stay with the company without adding another year to your contract. If you add another contract, there are usually incentives to adding. Like they may offer a better plan or you can purchase cheap phones etc.

I found the phone here...though I've never shopped there they have a store on kingsway and joyce.

sry for not making myself clear, what i ment is that i want to switch phones, like not use the current phone that i have and switch to buying a new phone. However the current phone that i have right now doesn't have a sim card and i think SE has a sim card. The question is, can i switch phones, stay on the same billing (telus), stay on the contract without adding anything. thats for the site!

Oh, hmm...telus? I hear their phones don't use sim card, so I don't know if it's possible to switch phones. Maybe someone else here might know more about telus, but I don't know too much. You might just have to wait until the contract runs out and maybe switch companies or something. The year will fly by fast =P

i think you are allowed to switch phones but you must pay the full price for the phone which is usually over $200 - $300 depending on the phone

Yes, you are allowed to switch phones. But at telus you have to pay a fee and pay full price for the phone. This is because your still on a contract. They don't allow you to purchase a contract on top of one. If you are on a contract with telus you can't get the SE. I recommend you fido or rogers in the future.

Cell World Co., is the cheapest place I know.

darn it, that means i have to wait one more year for my contract to run out

Thats it im switching to fido, i'll switch to what ever company that has sim cards in it. Makes life MUCH easier
