Re: Rude managers!

Did you give her anything? How can she call you back if she doesn't have yoru number, hahaha.

And floor managers are the ones that make those decisions, aren't they? Head office is waay to busy to do the hiring for sales associates, and most head offices are usually somewhere else... lol

Re: Rude managers!

associate manager does the hiring/ interview process
floor managers look after the floor/ make decisions when the "general" manager isn't in

But she wasn't rude about it. The Aritzia manager sounded rude, if they were truely not hiring why would she stop and say "wait, do you have experience?"

But like Annie said, I learned that going together with a friend isn't something you should do when applying for any job.
lol yeears ago, I went with a friend to hand out resumes, the FIRST store we went into the manager decided to grill us and popped a few interview questions. And of course being inexperienced and young with no previous job/interview experience we were stumbling...it was quite embaressing and to top it off she condescendingly finishes with, "Oh, and just a word of advice, don't ever go in stores together when you apply for jobs."
haha we were quite dispirited afterwards..
I applied at some places with a friend - I did NOT want to at all ebcause this friend acted like a complete child and was all clingy... I told her clearly that we should enter the store at different times (like she goes in first, while i go into another store and then we switch stores, etc) and she just followed me in... and when I say "can I have an application?" she'll appear and be like "meeeee too! Get one for me, (and she even says my name...)" =_=;;;
At one place, the girl at the cash register said, "...are you guys friends?" and gave us a weird look and my friend was like "yeah!! we're job hunting together, yay!" =-=;;; but in the end, I got the job and she didn't ^^

Re: Rude managers!

She's only the floor manager? well there is an assistant and store manager. You can always talk to the store manager about what happened because I think it's unfair that shes not giving you a chance just because of an incident.
i believe all retail stores are supposed to accept your resume and keep it on file eventhough they claim they are ''not hiring''. but wow.

yeah ive encountered a rude manager at aritzia long time ago too

Re: Rude managers!

i haven't had this problem at aritzia, but when i went job hunting for a job at the bluenotes in richmond centre, i got a pretty rude response too.
the girl i talked to there was pretty much b*tching to me. i asked for an application form, and she said in this high and mighty i'm-better-than-you-are voice "oh, uh. we don't have any application forms here. just hand in your resume." i really hated her rude attitude ==" and she was acting like i was some stupid girl who annoyed her really badly or something.
