Hands down, it's got to be Tropika. They serve a mixture of Thai, Malaysian and Singaporean fare. Their fried pineapple rice served in a carved-out pineapple is superb. And their curry crab dish is finger licking good.

Re: Best Thai Food In The Lower Mainland!!

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad someone else shares my love for Chada Thai. My friends and I adore this place! It's owned by Brian Marchesi and he used to a chef at the Four Seasons in Vancouver. He even takes numerous trips throughout the year to Thailand so he can make sure everything is authentic. And if you don't like spicy food it's okay too, because when you order your meal you can specify how spicy (mild, medium, hot) you want it! The lunch specials are SO worth it. I think there are about 10 combos you can order and they are all 8.99. I just can't get enough of the Pad Thai.

Re: Best Thai Food In The Lower Mainland!!

Tropika is SO GOOD but sometimes it gets a bit pricey on the wallet =P never tried Chada Thai thought..

Where would you choose? Chada Thai or Tropika?

Chada is so close to me, since I'm in coq :) Tropika is all the way in Vancouver :P so if I can find a thai-ish joint that is cheaper/close I'm definitely choosing the latter :D

hmm...just checked around about Chada Thai...seems like A LOT of people think its expensive for Dinner...Not sure about Lunch($8.99 seems reasonable...I think for Lunch) :S

Re: Best Thai Food In The Lower Mainland!!

I have heard good things about in Burnaby. It's right next door to Sushi Garden. I haven't gone there before since i'm not a big thai food person, but it's always nice to have options =)

you don't say.
I really, really love Thai food, and was actually going to go there for lunch a couple of weeks before, but then I just grabbed a starbucks and went to this italian place up the street for spaghetti. I forgot the name of it, but it was run by this chinese couple and the whole time I was in there with my friend the lady kept glaring at us and whispering in chinese The spaghetti was okay actually, but the experience just ruined it for me.
