Posh Restaurant

So I just got hired as a P/T server at POSH Restaurant on Broadway. There are currently 3 locations: Richmond, Broadway, and one opening up in Burnaby. Has anyone been there before, and if so, what was your experience there like??

I already have a full-time job, so this new job will be good for supplementing my current income. It's only minimum wage but I'm pretty excited to work there because the staff and atmosphere there seem really cool / fun!

By the way, they have plans to open up 3 more locations so they are doing lots of hiring right now!!! It's perfect for students and you'll probably make great tips

Re: Posh Restaurant

I've gone there for a birthday dinner.(richmond location) It was a cool experience, but very busy. We had reservations and still waited over an hour to be seated so you may have to deal with grumpy customers. The people working there seem really nice though and accomodating so it was pleasant even with the wait.

Goodluck with the new job and I hope you have fun working with the people =)

Re: Posh Restaurant

I have been to Posh several times and had good experiences, the servers were mostly really friendly. the only problem was that it was sometimes rather hard to get the server's attention because there were not enough of them!.

Re: Posh Restaurant

Posh specializes in sukiyaki (Japanese hotpot)
You don't have to speak Japanese to work there. Most of the customers are from non-Japanese backgrounds.

Re: Posh Restaurant

it's all you can eat japanese hotput. They serve lots of thinly sliced beef, they are pretty yummy!! and affordable.

~$10 for lunch time, and ~$14 for dinner time.

Re: Posh Restaurant

hey guys! sorry for the late reply..!!
So i actually didn't end up working on that Monday cuz i worked like 5 hrs overtime at my other job.. hahahha... so bad.. missed my first shift..

But i started last night (saturday) and lemme tell ya, it is NOT easy! They put me right on the floor on my first shift. Even though it's all you can eat and you technically don't have to "take orders" from anybody, it's still aloooot of work. But honestly it's so much fun because the staff are SO nice, my boss is really cool, and you're never bored because you get to talk to strangers lol. I'd definitely recommend working at Posh to anyone looking for a job. I've decided to compile a list of skills that will really come in handy:

-good multi-tasker, efficient
-good short-term memory
-able to carry alot of things in both hands (stacks/trays of food)
-people person, as you are expected to make conversation with customers (there are lines that every server has to memorize and perform, but it'd be better if you could actually converse with customers on top of that)
-team player.. you are always helping everyone out, vice versa.
-good on your feet.. you'll be constantly walking around, bending over, crouching, standing on tippy toes..all this while carrying stuff or cleaning. I swear i couldn't even feel my legs when i came home last night but that could just be because i haven't served for a looong time.

Rewards?
Big tips
Working with friendly and fun people (they often go out to eat after work, etc.)
Get to talk to lots of customers and make new friends, and you'll never be bored
Set schedule
