Road trip across canada...well to toronto

I was just wondering if anyone here has ever driven across Canada????
I'm planning on going on a roadtrip from Vancouver to Toronto with some of my friends in the summer and then on the way back we're going to come back through the states.I was just wondering if anyone has done it and about how much it cost them?????I know it's gonna be a ton for gas and hotels and stuff but it'll be fun and the cost will be split three ways
so if anyone has done this b4 let me know how it went and about how much you spent

thanx!

My friend did that once a couple years ago. You could also bring tents and other camping equipment so you can stop at campsites and save money on accomodation.

Re: Road trip across canada...well to toronto

did it when i was a kid and again when i went to college in ontario

its a really lok drive through Canada - a good 4-5 days - seriously long

its only 2-3 days via the states though and they have much better highways

the ones in Canada are mostly single lane and the northern ontario part is so boring

it will take you about two days to get to winnipeg - or 32 hours straight and the sam distance or more from winnipeg to Toronto another 35 or so hours of straight driving

I would recommend drive from here to Calgary or Regina and stay over night than go to thunderbay ontario and than to sudbury or sault ste marie and than onto to Toronto

stop in WAWA to see a giant mosquito

camping is a good and cheap idea

you couldn't pay me enough $$$ to that trip again - worst

i hear coming back from via the states is nice - better freeways - two lanes, more major cities - detroit, chicago etc etc

in the states motel 6 is a cheap stay

Re: Road trip across canada...well to toronto

well its about 4500 km

I think it would be about $600 in gas at least hotel - probably $50 - $100 a night

food for 4 days there - $30 a day??

i would say costs would run about $1500 divided by 3 - so $500 each or so

it might be more if gas goes up again

when i went we stayed over night in roadside rest stops - you are really not suppossed to do that but we never got caught so it was free to sleep there - at worst someone will tel you can't stay there and you have to move on

Re: Road trip across canada...well to toronto

yes we drove from Vancouver to Belleville - two hours east of Toronto

we left vancouver in teh afternoon - stopped in the rockies somewhere really late like midnight and slept there than drove to just outside Regina than picked someone up near winnipeg than drove straight through only stopping for food - it was insane

oh the car broke down once somewhere in the middle of nowhere but near a small town so we were able to get the problem fixed

it could be fun with friends but honestly the people i went with i really never wanted to see them again - lol - at least for a while afterwards
