On days like today, it totally feels like summer, I just can't wait!
What kind of practical (flat) shoes would be trendy for spring/summer? I love ballet flats, but I just hate wearing them on rainy days. I'm looking for shoes that are comfy, stylish, and can stand up to daily wear and tear. I've also seen a lot of gladiator sandals around as well.. I would love to wear boots too all year around, but do you think they look silly when the weather get warmer? |

I love boots too!! But wearing boots all year around is pretty silly.
"Variety is the spice in life." ![]() I wouldn't wear flats on a really hot and humid day unless it was for dinner or something because my toes would get all sticky and gross. I'm the kind of girl who wears things for comfort more than style. Flip flops ftw!! I've seen those sandal flats around; the pretty decorated ones? If you find a comfy pair, those can be pretty nice to wear during summer. ![]() |

I used to love flip flops too.. Until a shopping cart ran over my foot one day.. lol Now i'm just scared to wear them unless i go to the beach or something.
My problem is rainy days.. I take the bus and walk a lot, but i wish i didn't have to wear runners all the time. |

Re: Shoes for Spring/Summer 08
I love flip flops too but I should buy some new, nicer ones since my flip flops from last year look worn out. I hate wearing them on rainy days... one word: OUCH.
For summer, I'm thinking wedge heels! Maybe it's just 'cause I'm short. They're much more comfortable than normal heels because the weight's distributed better. I remember that espadrilles were quite popular last year - maybe they will be this year as well? Either way, I invested in a pair of peep toe wedge heels, and a pair of sandal espadrilles. |

I love flats, especially in gold, silver or some funky color. I won maybe 10 pair of flats of different color and i still can't stop going through stores looking for flats. They are so comfy, I don't care if it rains.

Re: Shoes for Spring/Summer 08
i'm a fan of flats as well! Do you guys wear socks with those though? Of course, not runners socks, but flat socks? (I don't, because i don't know where to get them!)
I'm definitely not a fan of gladiators! Boots in the summer? ugh... |

Re: Shoes for Spring/Summer 08
very nice for spring/summer 08
![]() ![]() ![]() Shoes were the shining stars of the season with styles varying from the outrageous to the streamlined and classic. Here are a few of the most wearable shoe trends for Spring 2008. Color Block Crazy multi-colored, multi-textured and patterned shoes with all the bells and whistles were burning up the runways (Miu Miu, Prada, Balenciaga). Hardly practical for real world wearing, but you can still get your piece of the rainbow shoe pie with a funky pair of colorful pumps. A few accents here and there and it's all gravy baby. Gladiators No more hippie-style flats. The gladiator trend has upped the ante with new look high heels and even gladiator "boots". T-straps T-strap sandals had a busy season, working the runways in many a designer collection (Carolina Herrera, Etro, Prada, Salvatore Ferregamo...). Styles range from menswear inspired classics to jewel-encrusted extravaganzas. The T-strap has made its way to wear-to-work and wear-them-out wardrobe stapledom and are widely available at the everyday affordable consumer level (Try Forever21, Target or Payless). Great for fashionistas on a budget! Nude Flesh-toned shoes of all shapes were hot amongst celebrities. They kinda make you look like you're barefoot. Barefoot = fresh = sexy, especially with the warmer weather. Get 'em in your skin tone. Think it's safe to predict this trend is gonna blow up this summer? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
