Re: Decorating A Dorm Room!!

Ikea's great for really practical furniture that won't crowd the area.
But if you're looking for a computer desk..
Rona has a computer desk with keyboard shelf + black fabric padded chair + 3 shelf [shelf] set for 98 bucks!!!!
Ikea's good though for everything else and they give you ideas throughout the entire showroom.
Electronics = Best Buy!! They're having major discounts.
I think you need a student card or something to get the discounts.
Check out their website.

Re: Decorating A Dorm Room!!

Thanks for all that information!!
Fortunately the computer desk and a bookshelf are already included at my UBC dorm, so I'm mostly looking for decor---like cushions, and little things that will make a room more interesting!!!!

lol I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE IKEA because of the variety of options it presents to the customers, but I'm jsut wondering if there's any other place anyone would recommend

Re: Decorating A Dorm Room!!

Try the stores located on West 4th Ave (Brier's, Moule, Hope Unlimited, Paboom) lots of funky pillows and ceiling decor. Also that poster sale that comes up twice a year at the SUB..

Zellers is not that bad especially for cushions and stuff.
Okay this might sound a bit corny but WALMART!
They're awesome for "exotic looking" cushions and they have a lot of stuff that you can use.
You can get any sort of look from walmart.
The stuff lasts quite a while too and looks great.

Re: Decorating A Dorm Room!!

Definitely go to Ikea!! (that's where my sister got most of her dorm stuff ) They have cushions for like $7, and bedspreads set (twin size) for around $30-$40! They also have cute little accessories for your desk...pencil holders, magazine holders...etc etc! You can also get really cheap posters, lamps that kinda stuff there.

For other places...hmm yeah like the other people said, definitely check out Wal-Mart! They have toons of little cute room accessories there as well, really cute cushions and carpets and everything.

You can also check out Home Outfitters and Linens N Things, but those are probably going to be more expensive, but of course that quality's going ot be better
