That is so weird! Have you tried making this? O_O?
So you've always thoughtwas cool, and been jealous of those totally unique people with their original
? Then a duct tape mini skirt might satisfy you on both counts! But even if none of the above applies, it's still a fun project!
Steps
- Take a few measurements. Measure your hips and the length you want the skirt to go down from your hips. Now add two inches to both measurements. (Measurements are made bigger because it is easier to cut off than to add on when using duct tape.)

- Divide your hip measurement in half, and then cut a strip of
a little longer than that measurement. Lay it flat on the
(or other large flat surface) stickyside up and cut another one. Lay that one stickyside up so that the long edge overlaps the long edge of the first piece just a little. Add more strips in the same fashion till it is a little bit longer than your skirt length. What you're essentially doing here is
that forms the front half of your skirt.

Cut another strip ofthe same length. This time, instead of laying it overlapping one of the other strips, lay it stickyside down on top of the top piece of
. It is a good idea to make sure you have a firm hold of the tape so that a part you don't want to touch your skirt will not accidentally become stuck to it. Put one end of your new piece of tape down and slowly smooth the rest out across the skirt. Don't worry if your ends don't meet up on either side. Just continue this until you've covered your entire sheet.
- Make another one, but this one should be at least several inches wider so it can wrap around the back. The more ample your backside, the wider the fabric should be!

A utility knife works well on duct tape
Cut off any extra sticky parts on the sides.- Tape one side of two pieces loosely together and hold it up to your body. Measure where you should cut off the other side and make a mark using a

. (Remember, you'll need room to get in and out!)

A small side slit
Tape both sides together firmly, making sure they won't come apart. Cut little slits on each side, as it will be hard to maneuver otherwise.![]()
Buttons in pretty colors
Cut a long gash that allows you to slip out of it easily on one side of the top of the skirt, and add a button to it so it doesn't fall off while you wear it.![]()
Smooth edges
Fold another layer of duct tape around the edges of the skirt so that any rough edges will be smoothed over.
Tips
- Duct tape comes in all types of colors. Don't just be limited to a grey skirt!
- This project can be very difficult, so don't be discouraged if your first attempt is a failure. Duct tape is a hard material to work with. Start with a smaller project, like a bracelet, then graduate to the mini skirt.
- Tie up loose hair, tidy up your work area, and thoroughly moisturize your hands before beginning; minimize the irritation of the tape's stickiness by minimizing the availability of things for it to stick to.
- Remember to take your time!
Warnings
- Duct tape can be very
to the
so it is a good idea to wear
,
or
under the skirt. (As tacky as it sounds, a duct tape skirt looks great over light jeans.)
- Duct tape isn't very breathable, so it is a bad idea to wear it on a very
day, as you will sweat a lot, and it does not look as cool if your duct
clad legs are sweaty and gross.
- Be warned! At any point during this project, if duct tape gets stuck to your skin (especially a part with hair on it) it will come off very
, so try to avoid touching it anywhere but your hands.

Sexy! Let's all make one and wear it at a MV gathering.
Ever wonder how bored a person has to be to think up something like that?
I like the idea of the duct skirt lol. This is even funnier lol
from Old Bread
Do you like make the most of unwanted things found in your house? Don’t throw away your expired or unfinished bread yet. You’ll be amazed at how beautiful your bread creation could be. Here’s how you can turn your unfinished or expired loaf of sandwich bread into a beautiful bouquet of roses.
Steps
- Take your slices of bread and spread them all on a tray. You want to dry them under the sunshine for about half an hour. Make sure both sides of the slices are dried. When dry, each slice should be very crispy. Separate the middle part from the crust. This is to make sure you get the color you want. The middle part is whiter, the crust, the outer part is quite brownish. You can use the middle part to make the rose petals and the brownish part for the leaves. You can mix them however, depending on what color you want your flowers to be. Here’s a reminder, if you want white roses, use only the middle part for the petals.
- Crush the bread to form fine crumbs. You can use a food processor to do this.
- Add in the white glue to the breadcrumbs. Mix them well to form dough (similar to pastry dough). The texture of this dough should also be similar to pastry dough. At this point, you can add in the oil color of your choice. Again, work the dough well so that the color is evenly spread and mixed with the dough. Make sure the dough is soft enough to handle.
- You can start making the flower of your choice now. Use the artificial stem as the holder/stem for your rose (or your own choice of flower). For a rose, work from the inside, the inner part of a rose, and decide on how big or small you want it to be. You can use your palm to make the rose petals, or you can press the dough with a bottle or a rolling pin if you want.
- Wait until you are finished with the roses, and put them in a standing position (vertical upward position) in a vase and put these flowers under the sunshine to dry. They will harden and dry in a day or two under direct sunshine.
- Make sure that the flowers are completely dry. Dip them into the wood varnish and let them dry again. You can also use spray varnish but it is much more expensive. This varnish acts as a protector or a shield for the flowers and help them last longer.
hahaha this is way awesome!!! duct tape rules lol
