Re: Rememberance Day At Chinatown Tommorow!

    Are You Chinese-Canadian?

If you are Chinese-Canadian, Imagine living today with a racist Canadian government and society that said to you:

If you are of Chinese ancestry, you cannot vote, and you cannot become a doctor, lawyer or accountant. Also, at work you will be discriminated daily by your employer as you are required to do all the toughest jobs and work overtime hours at 1/2 the wages of your white co-workers.

Hard to image in this day and age right?

But for Chinese-Canadians before WWII, that's what life was like! Luckily for us, we don't live in a society like that anymore because of the many courageous Chinese-Canadian men and women that fought in WWII which is why I consider them my heros!! Because they had fought for Canada in WWII, they helped convince the Canadian Government that we deserved to be treated equally as Canadian citizens.

Therefore, if you are Chinese-Canadian like myself, i really hope you will be attending to remember and honour the Chinese Canadian WWII veterans that fought for your rights and freedoms. I'll be there and trying to spot any vets that are around and thanking them for all they have done for me!!!

    See you there tommorow!!
