am i being unfair?

Hey everyone!

Am I being unfair by not allowing newbies to see hot deals and warehouse sales? Recently, I've been getting a few complaints about this.

Instead of requiring a certain number of posts, how about we require that each newbie refer 5 of their friends to be given full access to all the forums?

What do you guys think?

Personally, I think it's fair. I mean how hard is it to post a xy number of decent posts? I mean there's so many topics you an reply in.

But the refering 5 friends idea's not so bad itself. Promote the site, but how do we know they didn't sign up for multiple accounts at different computers?

Thank you for your input annie! if someone tries to cheat and sign up multiple accounts, i'll know.. trust me

so you like the friend referral system eh??

i think this would encourage a lot more new members!

Well I also agree with Annie. The only reason you had to have an x number of posts was to prevent lurkers who could just see the deals without contributing. That's why it was fair to earn it through posting and actively participating. The referral system will be a good way to increase the number of members. Maybe we should give it a shot and see how it goes!

thanks pandalover! i'm glad that most of us are thinking along the same lines! and i think i will actually try the referral system if not too many people object to it!

what about the newbies.. what do you guys think? would that be more fair to introduce the referral system instead? i'm trying to be as fair as i can!

perhaps a few posts and a few referals rather then just one or the other, so that we have the best of both worlds

i think its fair...
if they want to see all the hott deals theyve got to contribute tot he site some way or another...getinng x amt of posts isnt sooo bad...i remember that it wasnt too hard for me... :P

but yes.. you are correct.. i do call the shots.. but my goal is to be as fair as possible to everyone!
