Am I recruited by Hollister in this situation?

    Hi guys!
So here is the thing. (kinda long. lol)
I went to Hollister at Pacific centre few days ago around 8:05 ish.
When I was checking out my item, I asked the model who was checking out for me, "Are you guys hiring?"
she said, "oh we are always hiring. You can go to our website and fill out the application form online."
I replied,"but I checked out the website and it said go to a store."
then she said oh yeah then turned to her manager and asked, "where is the recruited card thing?"
Then the manager looked at me and said "you want to work here" or "you want the casting card" I dont remember which one did he say.
And he asked my name and my phone# and wrote them down on the recruiting card.
He told me what his name was and wrote it down on the card and gave me the recruiting card and the password to apply online.
So, am I recruited? Does it give me any advantages?
He told me his name and does it partially meant that he recruited me? cause on the recruiting card it says, recruited by and his name.
Thought he did not personally approached me but am I kinda being recruited?
oh and can I wear a khaki hollister shorts with a white hollister tshirt to the interview? thanks!
I have an interview next friday. Wish me luck!
    Thank you!
Can I also please any one of you who had/ have been working at Hollister@Pacific centre to give me some advice and suggestions for HCO interview and working there? Thank you!

It's not recruiting if you're the one that asked about the job BUT, the application doesn't know that so technically, yes, you can say you got recruited because you were given that card ;) i DON'T think there is any advantages to being recruited to be honest. Hollister has always seem superficial to me to say the least, so they'll seriously hire anyone THEY think will look the image and have some-what half a brain to work their store properly.
What you plan on wearing to Hollister is perfect.. as long as it's HCO brand, you're good. Don't ever wear black though.
Also, tips for the interview process: it will be group interviews so try your best to stand out. Be funny, passionate, and enthusiastic will win you some points. Be creative to catch attention.

I don't think you should wear shorts and a t-shirt to an interview. Even though it is Hollister brand, you should look professional. That's just my opinion though.

    Thank you!
I looked up on some HCO posts, and people say you have more chance to be hired if you are recruited/ have the card, idk :-(
I am also wondering since HCO prefer its staffs wearing navy and white. I just ordered some jeans from HCO, should I wait till my orfer comes then wear the jeans to the interview? But it meants I gotta change my interview date to May 1st or 8th.

Or would wearing a pair of jeans be better?:(

If you're planning to work at hollister prepare to fight for shift and annoying call in shifts

I would probably wear a black pair of pants and a shirt. I personally wouldn't wear jeans.

Nice hollister top, dark cardigan, dark wash jeans with flats and you're good to go. The maximum hour you can work is 4 hours/shift. I heard it's cause they don't want to pay you for the break.. and everyone is part-time except managers

I used to work at Hollister, the card doesn't really give you that much of an advantage; a friend and I both got hired without one, but another friend who had a card didn't, so it really depends on your skill set /experience/the impression you give them, in my opinion.

I'd say dark wash hollister jeans & a nice top with flats is ideal for your interview - remember although it's Hollister, its still important to look professional.
You can look up a lot of the questions they ask online on google - just type in "hollister interview questions"

They almost always ask "Why is diversity important in the workplace", so make sure you prepare for that one!

Overall, I liked my experience there - the people were a lot of fun to be around. But I'd recommend applying for Impact over Model, its a bit more fun because you don't simply fold clothes all day/say the same tag lines over and over again. When working in the back you get to interact more with your coworkers!

Yes,I applied for an impact position, cause I think you get more shifts, is that true?
I should not wear flip flops right? people say to wear flip flops to HCO interview, idk:(

Oh I want to change my interview date to May 1st or 8th. But can I go on May 8th without noticing HCO?
Or should I call them? I filled out an online application form and chose the interview date on next Friday.
Cause my jeans are still on online processing...:)
Can I just go on May for the interview? Thanks!

lol. I heard that you dont get much shifts at HCO.
I'm applying for an impact position. I think maybe that will get me more shifts...?
Oh dear...I hate call in shifts, i need a job though;)
Wish me luck to be hired by HCO...

Its totally up to you, I didn't actually wear any Hollister clothing to my interview - if you have something else that you think would work I'd say do it earlier than sooner, as they'll get more and more applicants after finals are over..

    good luck with your interview!

That wasn't recruiting, when I used to work there I'd just give the card anyway when someone didn't have the time to fill out the application in store at the kiosk - which that employee should've guided you to. Recruiting is when a manager specifically asks you if you want to work there.

I would not wear shorts to the interview. Wear jeggings or skinnies with a plaid shirt or cardigan and tank under. As for the colours, navy blue and gray is ideal (if you work there that's the colours you'll be wearing) or white.. keep it neutral.

Impacts sometimes stay super late and there's a bit more pressure on them to perform, it's definitely a lot harder than model IMO. As for getting more shifts, really depend on how you work. I was a model when I worked there but I had a say in how many hours I wanted and which shifts I wanted but that comes down to what the managers think of your performance.

your best bet is to wear jeans, any jeans as long as there is no label/brand showing and a nice hollister dress shirt. That way, you fit in the image but still looks professional. Whatever you do, don't wear black! hahah. And as one of the posters said, "why is diversity important" is one question they will ask so be ready...try to come up with something different than the typical response.

My friend got recruited while shopping at Hollister 2 years ago, but she was offered an interview on the spot. The interview took place the following week and was a group interview.

I finished my interview yesterday. It was okay but I was the most wordy applicant.
I think I was pretty okay. The interviewer said he would call back in the following 3 to 4 days.
I wish I could be hired:)

hey, i worked for HCO during the christmas times as an impact

for my interview, i wore jeggings, white top, and navy cardi, i think they like to see that you're wearing their brand, it doesnt have to be business wear kind, it just needs to look like their brand

and impact has the LEAST shift, unless you're making your availability anytime, there is absolutely nothing but the occasional call in shifts on friday, saturday, and a shift on a weekend (that is, i made my availability after school and on weekends)

Don't worry !!! For one of the questions when the manager asked tell me something interesting about yourself, everyone was saying they were a pro swimmer, a snowboarding instructor, played sports competitively, then there was me: i told him i have purple fingers which is true

when i got hired i was soo excited!! then after a while... i got tired of being an impact, SHIPMENT WILL BE YOUR ENEMY, where you unload new merchandise ugh, and tag them with security tags and fold them to be put away... if anything i'm going back as a model

but yeah, i got laid off after working the christmas season but i was thinking to try again this summer

I just finished my interview two days ago:)
I wore exactly the same color as you did! I wore AE jeggings(oops!), white vest and navy HCO hoodies and flip flops!
I am still waiting for the phone call :(
DO you know when will they call you if you get hired?
You do have purple fingers? Wow how come?
The manager asked us to tell a fact about ourselves. Everyone talked about their hobbies such as swimming (they really did say they like swimming)
or sporting. I told him my name spelling is different from the original spelling:p
My replies were kind of wordy, I think. lol
The interview was really good! Wish I could get hired!

yeah they got back to me i think 4 days after, so don't worry! and they called me around 5pm
i have raynauds disease so my hands turn white or purple when its cold (it came in handy and made me memorable! )
they really like you talking about diversity, and pretty much having a laid back outgoing vibe

I am kinda nervous now since today is the 4th day after my interview which last Friday, Apr. 20th .
I still did not get any calls...
The interview manager said he would call in the following days but...
Does that mean I dont get the job or what?
