Update: June 23, 2011 Driving Schools In Vancouver

This is a thread about driving schools and instructors in Vancouver based on personal experience and word of mouth. Please feel free to add to this thread and help other aspiring drivers know about good driving schools!

I'm not sure if there has been a thread about this yet but can you name any good driving instructors? (based on your personal experience or word of mouth) ..cause the last one i had reallyyyy sucked

    Thank you :)

when i was young..i took driving lessons with this viet instructor named Tien...and his driving school company was called Saigon driving school...he's really good...but he's pricey though...i think it was $900 for...i forgot how many practices plus GLP classes..but it was a lot of practices...and the reason why he was pricey because he has a reputation of students getting their N with just one try...barely any students fail their first N test with him.

but that was 4 years ago...since gas prices went up...the fees might have went up too.

    Young drivers
Both my sister and my boyfriend went to Young Drivers, and not only they teach you the basic driving skills but also teach you techniques what
you should do during emergency. I think its worth the money to get
    the skills down right.

Does anyone know any other good places other than young drivers?
i dont want to get those pricy packages.. i only want to take 2 lessons for now. practice with my mom and then take couple more lessons before my road test.
and i dont want to pay more than $40/hr.

There's an asian guy from AM1320... called "Chiu Lung" He's never had a student that failed in the past. I took 2 lessons from him (1 hour each) and I passed with a perfect. I think it's not that expensive.. like in the $30-50/hour range.. not hundreds of dollars. Good luck!

Definetely Young Driver's. My driving instructor was named, Margariet. I would really avoid the independent driving school's if I were you.

i'm taking classes with him right now and i think it's $40 ish/hr. he's really cool haha. i definitely DON'T recommend fraser driving school. my dad HAD to listen to one of his "friends" and that's why i went there...and failed my road test.

My instructor is really nice and patient. He explains thing really well too. I always thought parallel parking would be sooo difficult, but now, it's the thing that I'm best at. If you want his number, you can PM me and I'll send you an email. If you don't have a PM function, let me know on this thread.

edit: He charges $30/hour. He's not one of those teachers that rip you off, sometimes we go over the time by accident and he still charges me the same.

    Mine is too! :D
He's Chinese and can speak Vietnamese :)

    I have him today again!
    --------------
He's really laid back, so I recommend him!
I think I crashed into the curb and he didn't complain or anything, he said it's fine. Which is nice and he's really careful, so he will make you park the car and practice your turning the wheel skill!!

hahaha yeah him i have him every sunday for a hour

but ive been taking alot of lessons from him for a while now sighhhh
i cant parallel park arghh so hard for me

and then i cant practice at home cuz my mommy wont let me drive her car so she rather pays for me to take lesson and practice from them

Hey, I was wondering this...let's say I crash Howard's car...
I wouldn't be able to get my N until...2 years after right?
OR...is he the one at fault?
I'm hearing different things from my parents WHO HAD HIM TOO lol hahahah

I can't do that 3 point turn...I do 2 days a week. It's been 4 hours so far with him.
And I go too fast...the needle always goes to 60km/hr =/
