How do/did you picture your wedding?

It seems that in the media, it's always talked about how women dream about their wedding from the time that they are little girls. Growing up, I was always a tomboy so this wasn't true for me. The only thing I'm sure about for my someday wedding is my dress, and that only came about within the past few years.

So I was just wondering, is there anything about your wedding that you have dreamt about since you were a little girl? Did you even picture your wedding as a little girl? Is there anything now that you know you'll just have to have at your wedding? Or if you've already had your wedding, what was the thing which just had to be there for it to be your dream wedding (other than the groom and other people you care about)?

As I mentioned, the only thing I'm sure about is my dress. Growing up, I used to secretly worry a tiny bit whenever I saw a wedding dress because I never saw any that I would feel excited to wear. I had seen those shows on TLC and read bridal magazines, but I just never really saw anything that jumped out at me. I just figured though that by the time I was ready to get married, then it would have just sorted itself out xD I don't remember when it was that I saw it, but there's this one dress that I just adored immediately. It's pretty simple, and not really a typical gown, so at first I dismissed it. It has always been there in the back of my mind though as my ideal dress.

For my grad, I wanted an unconventional dress, but people convinced me to go with something else because they were worried I'd look back and wish I had gotten more of the typical princess grad dress. It's the other way around actually and, even though grad was amazing, sometimes I'm a little disappointed that I didn't go with my instinct and get the dress I wanted.

Perhaps some other wedding dress will come along and wow me someday, but right now I feel like as long as I have my groom, the people I love, and that dress, then it will be my dream wedding. It's expensive though, so I'll have to make sure to study really hard and become really successful so that I can have my dream wedding someday xD

That's my story xD Share yours!

For me, I've never given thought about a perfect wedding day partly because It somewhat scares me.
I would like it to be those typical weddings you see on TV though. I'm not a picky person so that's somewhat good :)

I do have a perfect wedding dress in mind. Something along the lines of these dresses:

    Detailing like this dress:

A nice back like this dress:

A flowy but not too long strapless dress with maybe a bow like this dress:

theme: something clear/crisp...lotta silver and whites...something very contemporary.

cake: very traditional but contemporary with lots of flowers on top =)

    shoes: louboutins!

I'm a traditionalist with a twist of modern, haha.

Wedding Dress: Vera Wang (for SURE). Classic, but with a twist.

Bridesmaid dresses: Has to be coordinated!

Reception dresses: There has to be at LEAST 3-4 outfits planned for the reception, hehehe
One of them has to be a backless halter Qipao in red and gold (for the Chinese background in me)

I haven't thought too much about the cake or anything, but I know that I definitely want my reception in Vancouver in some hotel on the waterfront, such as Pan Pacific.

And does... of course either Manolos or Louboutins for shoes, hehe <3

    My wedding?

A simple drop by to City Hall and then getting a Marriage License.
Money will be put to better use, lol.

    ^LOL, guys XP
But your future wife would want a nice formal wedding. haha. In the end, usually the groom gets no say in things like this LOL

Nah.... I'll just have to tell my woman that...
Bigger wedding = less fancy clothe, handbags, shoes, car, vacation home, etc.
    lol
  10. pinkrose398 (1) Full Member New Trader

^Nah, she'd still want a big wedding, she would be welling to give up the vacations etc for the wedding. Trust me, haha

i'm a girl but i don't want a big fancy wedding... well that's if i ever get married XD

maybe a simple one in his backyard with close family and friends only... or like festealth says, get it done at the city hall! the money will go to an adventurous honeymoon instead =)

When I was young I was a total tomboy too so I never gave any thought to getting married or finding my prince charming...but when I got older, in my preteens/teens I started watching all those wedding shows on TLC and I started wondering what kind of dress I'd like. I agree with pinkrose and juicybrat, Vera Wang makes the most AMAZING dresses! I especially really like the one that Kate Hudson's character wore in Bride Wars (but perhaps with less layers of tulle...the skirt is huge):

As for the actual wedding? I'm not really picky. I think I'd like something outside. I always thought it'd be cool to have the reception in like a penthouse suite in a swanky apartment or hotel downtown with glass walls so you could see the views of the city...haha

im definately planning to get one of his brand of dresses for my wedding sometime in the future lol.

Like pinkrose398, I'd have to incorporate my different backgrounds in.

I've watched so many TLC's Wedding shows that I don't know if I can think of a perfect wedding.
I love love love Marie Antoinette, and was thinking of a maybe a theme for the wedding and make all of my bridesmaid ect. wear Victorian styled gowns LMFAO.

I don't know, but I'm on the edge of a sophisticated wedding reception and a traditional one later on in the evening. So in total, 1 main wedding dress, 1 dance in able wedding dress, 1 Vietnamese ao dai, and 1 Chinese qipao or the other dress.
    1. Wedding dress...I don't know lol...there's so many that are so nice!
    2. Dance in able wedding dress, I don't know either.
    3. [IMG]
    4. Qipao of some sort...

And if I was a celebrity of some sort, I'd do this!

    Cake:

Must have at the wedding reception:
and a fruit bar and a chocolate fondue fountain, for kids to dip strawberries.

And an AROUND THE WORLD food table.
with mini appies from different parts of the world to accomodate my International friends lol...
    And like Annie=)
A can't forget theme or going into the place!
    I don't know what! But, it's mandatory

    ONE PROBLEM: Money

A ring from Tacori. I use to love this ring but I am contemplating about getting the Princess cut one.

I'm going to have a small cake for display, but each guest will have a replica of the small cake (minature cakes).

    Food:

    - Each table is going to have a whole small fried pig (with the head).. Chinese style

    - The food is going to be a combination of buffet (indian) and a sitdown chinese dinner

    - Open bar

    - Dessert table

    Dress:
    - A simple white dress (not too sure if a want a puffy bottom or a form fitted one)

    - The bridesmid will all wear the same colour dress, but they can choose what the style is (I'm thinking of a lavendar colour)

    - I will probably have a traditional Chinese and Indian suite

    Layout:
    - In a big hall or ballroom
    - Colours: gold, white
    - Lots of fresh long, beautiful flowers
    - Head table and a circle table for guests
    - Dance floor

    Things to do:

    - Tea ceremony

    - Big party limo (don't want to cram into a small limo with dress)
    - Whole week party (Indian)

    MORE PLANNING STILL HAPPENING!
