How do you organize your cosmetics?

Show off how you organize your makeup (along with your makeup and/or vanity table/area ;p) here!

Since I'm always on the lookout for ways to optimize the convenience of prettifying in the morning xp, please feel free to post pictures or products/storage containers you use.

The first thing I would love to recommend is the anordna mest storage units from Ikea, they are only $14.99 ($6.99 when on sale) and they come in a set of 3, with two of the units divided into 4's and one that comes with covers so your cottons swaps and whatnots stay clean:



How I use it:

(my vanity table, aka the cheapest computer desk I could find at ikea)


(the organizers fit perfectly into the pull-out keyboard area)




And then I also have the usual plastic table top shelf:

(nail polishes and hair sprays on top)


and inside, I organize them some more by separating the cosmetics with plastic food containers available at any dollar store...

I'm one of those weird people that like to organize and organize some more, it drives me crazy when something isn't in the drawer or area it's suppose to be in =(>.<)=

I have this big box thing LOL it sounds weird but its a nice box that has a lid and like seude cloth on it haha. anyway, i put all my makeup that i use constantly in there, and have little plastic bins i bought at the dollar store to organize each section. for example, one bin for blush, one for lip products, one for random eyeshadow singles, one for foundations/powders, and then i throw in any palettes that will fit in it

Maybe I should try this.

All my make up is in my GUESS make up bag. LOL

I have a ton of boxes/cases/bags to put everything in. I have more racks and boxes in my bathroom for all my cleasers and skincare. I can't stand it if my drawer is messy. Like clothing wise its okay because I rummage for my clothes all the time so it doesn't really matter....but when I can't find that specific mascara or w/e I get really pissed off ><

Edit: Oh yea! The snowflakes box was from a perfume set, so next time you guys get a fragrance set..you know what to keep the box for

@Bella: I think that is similar to what I use to do, but I would just stack the smaller containers up on top of each other in the box~ that started annoying me since I couldn't see everything in one glance xp lol

@c4dm: you should, it's oddly satisfying to see all your make-up organized and tidy (well, for me anyways xD)

@sw33tsmil3s: wow @3@ thats alot of bags and cases in your drawer =o how do you remember what's in what?

^ I don't know..I don't really change whats in what much often. If its not in one bag, it must be the other. I always end up finding it x) Last resort would always be my purse or my sisters room =.=

I showed a pic of my vanity in the "show your room" thread but it's a little different now. I got an L shaped table so I had to move my white table over, which gave me a lot more room to put my makeup stuff. The drawers don't have any makeup yet though... just being used for misc. electronics/charges and jewelry.

I don't have a vanity table...LOL

I use my own bathroom..and I went to the dollar store and bought these wooden containers and put stuff in that I tend to use a lot near the sink.
And every thing else that I barely use, is in a travel make up train case lol...

Daiso here I come! LOL

If only my make up collection was this big!
I want to do what she does!!

lol i put all my makeup stuff in a drawer. every cosmetic item goes in there, i dont seperate anything in a cosmetic bag. i only put a few of the things i need in a wristlet and bring it with me when i go out. usually basics that i need to for fixups (mascara, concealer stick, eyelash curler, lip balm)

@ohhoney: omg, she almost has a small section of a makeup store *jealous*

dunno if it's such a good idea for her to keep the makeup brushes in the bathroom though where it's exposed to constant moisture/bacteria and etc =S

How funny that this thread is up because last night I was youtubing to get some ideas on how some ppl organize their make-up.

Anyways!! So after watching some vids...here's my make-up organization...


My make-up table..it's pretty small and i have A LOT of make-up

brushes...I still have to organize it....want to seperate my face and eye brushes...the white thing at the back is my HELLO KITTY make-up case..where I place some makeup that I rarely use AND new ones too

Just bought this cute drawer...top holds my eyeshadows..middle holds my eyeliner/brow pencils/eye primer..etc...and the bottom holds my lipstick and other lip products

I'll probably be getting another drawer for my foundations ^_^

@babypooh: I love how your table is see-through, that's so nifty

for separating your brushes, have you considered looking for something like this:


you could just fill it with beads from daiso and stick'em in

or this one from sephora that's $35 (there's a cheaper version on eyeslipsface.com for $15)


What's in those brown boxes underneath the glass in your table? cause if you could organized them into the ikea organizer thingies, you might be able to save some space~ I think 2 organizers could fit underneath your table if you want.

you should check them out, they are available with diff types of compartments depending on your needs xp

i really don't have a lot, so i put it inside a old moon cake tin LOL, and then in one of my bigger drawers.
