Guaranteed, alot of the items that she is trying to sell is actually stuff that she got from other people that the Paypal girl paid for

My understanding is that:
- DTP paid through PayPal.
- She received the goods in person.

How she probably scammed the seller(s):
- After she received the goods in person, she filed a dispute/claim on PayPal to get her money back. She probably said that she never received the goods.
- PayPal asks the seller to provide proof of giving DTP the goods. Usually this is a tracking number. The seller cannot provide a tracking number (from CanadaPost or any other shipping company) because the transaction was in person.
- Since the seller does not have proof of giving DTP the goods, PayPal rules in DTP's favour and refunds the money back into her account.
- Once a PayPal dispute/claim is closed, it cannot be opened again.

So, if you are selling goods online and meeting in person:
Posting your items:
- Make sure you state that all sales are final.
- Describe the goods to the best of your ability. It's best to have a few pictures to show the style, condition, flaws, etc.
- Make sure you state that there are no try-ons. Try-ons are a waste of time for both the seller and the buyer, especially if the buyer does not want to buy the item. The buyer should know what size they are, especially if it is a popular brand (i.e. TNA). However, try-ons should be allowed for more expensive items ($100 to $200+).
The buyers:
- If there is a feedback system in place, only do transactions with buyers who have at least one positive feedback.
Payment:
- Do not accept PayPal if you are meeting in person.
Local pick-ups:
- Meet in a public area (i.e. a mall).
- Make sure you bring a friend when you meet someone in person.
- Do not meet with anyone who does not have a cell phone number.

If you are selling goods online and shipping:
Posting your items:
- Make sure you state that all sales are final.
- Describe the goods to the best of your ability. It's best to have a few pictures to show the style, condition, flaws, etc.
The buyers:
- If there is a feedback system in place, only do transactions with buyers who have at least one positive feedback.
Payment:
- Do not accept PayPal payments from a user with an unconfirmed address (to be confirmed, PayPal must call your house and speak with you).
- Do not accept credit card payments on PayPal.
- Do not accept personal cheques. If they bounce, you will be charged a fee by your bank. If you do choose to accept personal cheques, make sure you wait until they clear to ship the goods.
Shipping:
- Make sure you package the product carefully to avoid disputes/claims over damages.
- Make sure you ship by using CanadaPost parcels or PayPal shipping so that you have a shipping number in case of a dispute.
- If the goods are worth over $200.00, make sure you purchase insurance and have the goods signed for upon arrival.

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

Just to make it more clear to eveyrone...

She has an account on ebay, I believe it's naaz112. She poses as a seller of wholesale make up. This one person in particular, named Susan, was interested in buying her products.

What happened was Susan was told to pay for her items by sending payment to a list of people (the list of people being the people Naaz was interested in buying stuff from - us mallvibers)so I asked Susan why she made payments to a bunch of random emails she was unsure of instead of paying to Naaz's paypal account (apparently, her mom has an account so there should be no excuse). Susan replied by saying that it's "normal" for people to send to various email accounts (accounts that may belong to family or friends) to dodge taxes. None of what she said really made sense to me.

I think on Susan's part, she's just plain stupid for doing what she did and did not want to admit to us all that it was her fault for paying people she didn't know and not questioning Naaz why she had to send money to different people instead of sending money directly to Naaz. So Susan opened a dispute against all the people on her mailing list which she sent money to because she :
1)didn't receive any goods she wanted to buy from Naaz
2) Kay Le emailed Susan and asked her if she bought clothes from her and that she found it wierd she was receiving payment from Naaz with a UK confirmed address.
At this point, Susan realized that she was scammed by Naaz.

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

^ Wow, that makes it much more complex. I don't see why anyone would buy from a seller who has less than 90% positive feedback (naaz112 only has 76.5%; even before the MAC negative feedback, it would've been considerably less than 90% positive).

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

Hey girls,
Thank you for this post! I have been using Paypal for quite sometime now for buying/selling on ebay. Although i have not ran into any problems yet this is very informing for future transactions. I suppose and understand why some of you who i have offered to purchase items via paypal (b/c i live in sk) did not feel comfortable doing this. I, like shopforcheap, was confused as well.. thinking I would be the one taking the risk b/c I would make a payment and the seller wouldnt actually send the item. But I totally understand now and I too will be much more cautious with these transactions.
Funny thing is I would have almost gotten scammed by DTP as well. She pm`d to buy some stuff and offered to pay paypal. I didn`t question it b/c I was asking to be paid with that (again b/c i live in sk and cannot meet up). I messaged her back but for some reason it wasn't allowing me to send her pm's so on my selling forum i actually posted a message saying something like "dtp i received your pms but i cannot message you back" haha. Thank goodness... I assume that her account was already banned!

Wow I just checked her feedback. Anybody in their right mind would be hesistant about purchasing or selling anything to her.

Gah!

mArie-- are you the brave one who went to confront her personally?

Yeah it was me and my bf. We talked to her outside of her house and we gave her the benefit of the doubt because that shelly.brown hotmail totally confused the shit out of us and made us think that there was someone else involved but it turns out that it was her all along. If I knew then that it was her, I would bitch at her and then talk to her parents about what a scumbag she is. I still don't think that her parents know what she's capable of doing...
