Buy Sell Tips: Dealing With People On Forums

***BEFORE SELLING ITEMS ON MALLVIBES, PLEASE READ BELOW***

Just a word to everyone who is selling goods on forums:
The best way to make a transaction as smooth as possible is to meet up in person and accept cash only. Recently, a few of us mallvibers went through a gruesome month ordeal with a local person who uses mallvibes to buy goods and pays through Paypal. I do not want to get into details but I just wanted eveyone to be aware and catious when selling goods. Especially if they never want to meet up in person to pick up the stuff or they keep dodging and making excuses for you to do something other than meeting up directly, something's going on.

If you accept Paypal as a form of payment, you need to be 100% sure that you're receiving funds from the right person. It should be a confirmed address, so always email them back to make sure that they ordered so and so items from you. The person who screwed some of us over on mallvibes probably already has a new account on here so beware!

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

I agree. PayPal can be really frustrating at times, especially when you don't know the terms and policies. It can get really complicated.

I think we should release N***'s information just so everyone else of who she is since she has a little reputation of scamming people.

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

Yeah I don't think it's a good idea to be posting her info because if she already has enemies, they coud show up at her house and do some damage and if she comes on here and sees that I posted her info she could try and link the whole thing to me. So legally, it's not a great idea. I think just a word of advice to eveyone here to be careful when doing transactions should be good enough. Just because there could be more than one person who does this type of thing. I think that if someone is unwilling to meet you in person to exchange goods or give a contact number for communication, it would be a red flag.

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

maybe it's a good idea to realease it to ppl who want to know. like they could pm someone who has the info on her.

yeah i'm not sure if it's the right person.

but someone also asked me about paying paypal for $100 worth of items of my buysell stuff....and it shows she lives in burnaby, vancouver...and she insists on paypal?

like...WTH? i offered to met up since burnaby is so close...but she refused and made some excuse that she has no cash.

how hard is it to get cash?

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

The police is already aware of the situation. And the girl is underage so they just had her parents deal with the situation and payed back the people who were scammed. Just don't accept paypal from anyone who is local. And if they say they don't have cash it's BS because you can always transfer funds from your Paypal account to your bank account and withdrawl money.

Re: BEWARE!!! A WARNING when selling items on forums

YES!!!

I think it's safe to release her username and maybe real name. Just not her contact information.

She may be back with a new account and if she is...
