Karmaminus Aritzia in Seattle

So i don't know if you all heard, but the first Aritzia store in Seattle just opened up in Bellvue Square, what do you guys think about that?
I'm kinda mad, because the aritzia brands (mainly tna, and talula and stuff) were only in Canada, I felt special that nobody in the States would have a clue what TNA was so I could wear it there and everyone would love it and it would be such a unique thing over there!! And already you find that everything you buy at aritzia everyone else will be wearing the same stuff and now they're going to be wearing it in the states too!!

I had a feeling they were going to hit the American market.

Re: Aritzia in Seattle

that's how the Americans felt when A&F/Hollister came to Canada.

besides, if they don't have a clue about what that is, why'd they want to wear tna, talula, etc when they can just wear the brands that they only have in US? I'd rather have a Nordstrom in vancouver than the artizia base.

and no, not everyone is going to wear it in the states. canadians just did that because they don't have other popular brands to wear to be like everyone else. You think Americans drive all the way to Canada just for some Aritzia like the way Canadians drive all the way to get some Sephora? I don't think so.

Re: Aritzia in Seattle

Honestly, I don't think Aritzia will do as well in the US as it did in Canada. In Canada, TNA supplex was the original item that made Aritzia popular. In the states, they already have Lululemon, Hard Tail, So Low, etc. for those stretchy workout pants, so I don't think that many people will purchase the supplex items. I think what will make Aritzia known in the US are the items that are similar to American Apparel and Urban Outfitters...

Re: Aritzia in Seattle

jazuresky couldnt have said it any better.. they probably did feel the same way about A&F/Hollister. plus, TNA is moreso known for the brand not the style and brands are mostly not envied unless they are known (nonetheless, i love tna items). But then again, i understand the fact that people enjoy wearing items that no one else in their city has or is able to get. The embarassment of going to class and 3 other girls are wearing the exact same sweater or using the exact same bag. Not cool. haha That was the situation here when Lululemon opened! Anyway, your bound to run into someone who has the same stuff as you since almost everything is mass produced nowadays.

I live in Saskatchewan so i can tell you how lucky Vancouver people have it. Before Lululemon, le chateau and below the belt was our best stores. No bebe, no aritzia, no hollister. So i resort to online shopping :) Thank God for that!

All in all this should not be too big of a concern.

Re: Aritzia in Seattle

This whole american-canadian thing is ridiculous. Who cares what stores and what clothes they have or we have and the store/brand claiming for the countries.
I think its bizarre for someone who lives miles away to think oh jeez this sucks someone over in the neighbouring country has the same store.. now they're going to have the same stuff as me. ohh pleaseee.

Re: Aritzia in Seattle

Does anyone know anything about the prices there?
Since the USD & CAD are equal....are the prices the same? Or would they bump up the prices (similiar to A&F/HCO's situation)? Hmm I'm interested.

Re: Aritzia in Seattle

nope. i think they'll still charrge it for US currency.
cause one time i went to aritzia, it was for 85.00/
and when i went to pay for it, the lady said the total
is ... 68 something. i asked if it was on sale or something and she said
that there are some selected items that they match the price with the
us price cause they opened a store there.
